That doesn't change the fact that them trying to get this outfit removed is ridiculous. If they feel upset, so be it. As far as I'm concerned if they are privileged enough to cry over video game outfits and Frozen of all things then they aren't oppressed in the slightest. They ought to have picked their battles more wisely.

If you're not a member of this community or a company making products then your opinion on the matter is quite frankly irrelevant. This group of people has existing agreements with other companies, notably Disney, on how their culture is to be represented. They can do what they want with their own culture and if SE makes an agreement with them on the matter then that is simply how it will be, other opinions be damned.

this reminds me back in the day when Nintendo had to remove the chanting from Fire temple in ocarina of time , for the same reason , cultural issues....

Wait wasn't this done because it turned out said chantings were like, muslim prayers and the game creators had no idea? If I remember right they removed it because they did not want a religious influence on their game, not because they were made to.

yeah the chanthings were in a free sound library, not anymore , nintendo removed it because they didnt wanted to offend muslim community BUT also i remember reading the muslim community contacted nintendo and demanded to remove the chant , something similar happened with hitman 2 but i dont remember what happened in that scenario

And? Disney also should not be letting themselves be strong-armed by a bunch of grifting activists either.

My point being that if they have an agreement in place with Disney perhaps their stance is from a legal standpoint.

Needless to say, I find the assertion that these people can claim "rights" over an outfit ridiculous. SE should feel free to design and create whatever they wish without pressure from activist groups like this one, who are doing little more than throwing a tantrum over matters that largely do not concern them.

I do not wish to see the Far Northern Attire removed or altered as a result of whatever this "group" has to say. My position with this and other outfits that have been released over the years is unchanging as ever.

It's just an outfit. Deal with it.

There are a few groups that actually do have defined rights to certain outfits, due to international treaty. International law is REALLY strange in places. This, no clue. I'm just going to sit back with my popcorn and watch.

Remember the USA used to have a thing called "Stolen Valor" where wearing a uniform with bits of metal could get you jailed. So we don't exactly have clean hands on this issue. Figure all the more reason to get my popcorn.
