They would have to rebuild practically the entire engine to make this work, not to mention the servers and several other things. It would require a significant investment of time, manpower, and resources. SE has none of these three things at the moment.

Not that much, actually, but why would they do that, really ? They encrypt some models already, especially second phases for savage or ultimate (not actually encrypt, but make them unreadable until you get some packets, so yeah, kinda), but that matters because part of the excitement from savage/ultimate is seeing what comes next before the others.

Encrypting damage numbers ? Yikes. At best, they will lose time for a feature that won't change elitism (elitists will go back to say "your SAM has less aggro than my MNK, you're just bad"), at worst (and most probable) they will lose most of the PvE playerbase that won't care because they miss QoL, that QoL being a parser.

No thanks. Cheating is already more than obvious enough, especially since people can't help but snitch on themselves on twitch of all things. As for non-cheating mods? A "mind your own business" attitude should be the standard.

Scrap ultimates then and reallocate the ressources to make other fights more epic. Better that than having something intrusive like Punkbuster or Easy Anti Cheat.

People give too much worth to ultimate fights anyway for the little amount of people actually trying out that content, let alone those that actually manage to finish them.

Ultimates garner a lot of publicity for Square. Yoshi P even said (paraphrasing) that the content isnt for everyone but please be sure to tune in to streamers in the last live letter.

I would be inclined to agree, but the reality is that the Official Forums can be just as bad, if not worse than Reddit and Discord in many occasion, especially with 'General Discussion'. People on many threads seem far more inclined to engage in meta-discussion rather than actually address a debate or post directly. Further, many threads tend to devolve into accusatory remarks, to where the thread deviates from the original intention of the topic. Unironically, forums would benefit from having a downvote system, and would similarly benefit from proper moderation, too many threads fester far too long before they're moderated, if at all.

I certainly won't deny Reddit isn't without its faults, especially the mainsub, but on the whole both it, the discussion variant and general purpose discords are not really different than the OF. The one benefit of downvoting is it does prevent conversation derailing like this thread was long subjected to as responses aren't buried under a mire of useless back and forths. Is it abused? Absolutely. Just not to the extent you're implying.

Not at all. Square Enix has done a marvelous job of taking care of our game so far. Everything we have so far is thanks to them. Unfortunately some people choose to misbehave and it's time for Square Enix to correct that poor behavior. This will not affect the majority of players though. Only the small angry groups of elitists would truly face any consequences.

Not gonna happen. People use these for a reason. And if they no longer can, this game will die.
I know people don't like damage meters, but they're essential for endgame content to function, as there are dps checks that have to be met. And they help give people something tangible to look at to improve.
Besides that, let's not get started on the sheer amount of people utilizing ''visual'' mods... ''Mare lamentorum'' and all that..
