Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

I felt the need to bring this post back up. This was made by @Roda and perfectly shows why a Mithra would look bad as a counterpart to Hrothgar, while a female Hrothgar that looks more like an appropriate counterpart to the males fits better. And I just love this post too much to have it buried in the thread. <3

This is why it's important to have stuff match their opposite. Races shouldn't look similar to one another, otherwise what's the point? Just make a Hyur, grab ear glamours and be done with it.

Stuff should match their opposite. Even Au Ra who have a high level of dimorphism match their counterpart. Why wouldn't Hrothgar women look large and have a proper animalistic set of traits?

Whichever the case, the love for Mithra has been noted, but this is hardly the thread for it. Though I'm sure they know this. I wonder, why can't these people just leave others well enough alone? We already have enough trouble as it is. You don't see Hrothgar going into Miqo'te threads and post garbage.

Galka were great and I am kind of sad that they took away the tails when recreating them for FFXIV, they were also male only because God forbid we have buff women, no, it's much better to make them reincarnate from thin air and come back! (my sarcasm is showing). Female Roegadin were a great addition, just wish they had the option to be much bigger like the males!

As for the Mithra, I will repeat myself, but we already have Miquo'te who are quite literally Mithra but redesigned for XIV. They do NOT match Hrothgar in the slightest and would make that annoying and tired meme of a big beastly man and not-so-beastly woman.
Just make Female Hrothgar to be a good counterpart to Male Hrothgar.

I actually preferred galka being all male.
Holy crap a fantasy race in a fantasy world that doesnt rely on hetero human intercourse to exist, theres an idea.
And they ruined galka by making them a heterogendered race with...nothing going. Theyre humans but bigger in 14 like I hope nobody bust a blood vessel straining their creativity.
Since they chickened out and ruined hrothgar and viera by saying "more hetero races instead of anything new or unique" they do at least need to make them look similar.
But I think anyone asking for big buff women when its clear theyre just gonna dump a snout on a female roe model and call it a day (and femroe are frankly just femhighlander but taller) is gonna be grossly disappointed when the 7.0 build tester drops sometime around ig March next year.
And considering they couldnt be bothered to show femgar when they were announced the same time male miqote TWO were, and we havent gotten 1 npc anywhere, I would not be surprised if they waited that long for players to see them.

I do think that making a female Roe was the best thing they could have done. It is unfair to show a very buff and big race but not allow people to play it as female. It is a bad look when the big and buff race is male only, females can be big and buff as well. And when it comes to the lore, they could have just kept it, Galka just reincarnate themselves after death, both genders can. They can live together, but more often than not female Galka and male Galka choose to be separate because of X or y reasons. We keep the reincarnation as the main motive of a steady population and allow female Galka to exist. You could even add that they live in different places and have different customs, like the Sea Wolf being the males and Hellsguard being the females (and add both ranges of skin colour for all). There, problem solved.
I have been both fem Highlander and fem Roe and I can 100% say that the models differ in their physique. Highlanders are curvier with a more built/athletic shape, while female Roe has a muscular and almost androgynous body (minus the massive chest).
In other words, I would never support the genderlock of any race, unless the race looks so androgynous you literally cannot tell the difference.

The female Hrothgar should take inspiration from the Ronso in the same way the males did. Then the devs should look at the males and design a good counterpart for the males. They don't need to be more buff or bigger. For me as long as they look like they are part of the same species is more than enough.

And I have my fears that they would delay female Hrothgar after 7.0 (maybe even 8.0) because of the lack of noise. And as you said because they are so quick to not show anything regarding them, not an NPC, not a concept art, no nothing. It is safe to say that I don't have any hopes of them coming in 7.0, there was no promise of them adding females then. The devs wording was ambiguous, it could be interpreted as not coming in this expansion, to it will come in a few expansions when we will be unable to ignore the demand for them anymore.

Honestly, I just want to see them, I want to play one in 7.0 and retake her through Shadowbringers, Endwalker and (insert 7.0 expansion name here).

I might be reading too much into things, but has anyone seen the new animated ad for 14? If my memory serves right, Hrothgar had very little representation in the past ones, usually having one or maybe 2 somewhere in the background. But in this one, they have a few that make a pretty visible appearance: 1 Astro in the raid, 2 in the Ul'Dah at the beginning, the one in the end screen watching fireworks and the prominent one being the crafter who is front and centre (yes, I am aware of the meme). Do you guys think this might be a subtle way to attract new players to the Hrothgar race by showing them in almost every playstyle in the game?
- Astro in the raid (Raider)
- One in the starting gear in Ul'Dah (new player)
- One having a nice glam in Ul'Dah (Rp, maybe?)
- The crafter (Crafting)
- And the one watching the fireworks (MSQ/Sidequest enjoyer)

I mean they might want to garner interest for when the females are revealed. Yes, I could be reading too much into it, but I like to place together hints and story bits to theorise on. And the timing seems too good to just be a coincidence.

My understanding is that they split Mithra/Galka because the system could only support four choices of race, so they squashed the two races into one slot.
