All the playable races will be updated at once for 7.0. They said as much during a live letter when they spoke about all NPCs that are just character creator parts being good to go right of the gate.

All of them will come at 7.0 then? Because what I remember is them saying that the first races will come out first, and then they'll progressively build the rest of the game until 7.0

If so, then that's even better! Because that means Female Hrothgar will come relatively early. Maybe not 7.0 itself, but definitely past that, and not at the end of the expansion or so like some people fear

I hope Female Hrothgar will have the same height as Male Hrothgar.

I hope so too!! ^^ Especially because that'd make interactions with them (read = Emotes) extremely cute and form-fitting!

1 - You don't need to play WoW to be a furry.
2 - You're playing what the furry fandom considers a "scaly".
3 - WoW only has like two good furry races.
4 - WoW isn't even the only one. You have GW2, ESO, and yes, even FF14.

They are? I thought it'd just be like a HD retouch to their skin and eyes texture but would stay the same otherwise.

Nope, you can tell from the previews given in the original announcement that the poly count is being increased. Just look at the midlander example and note how the ear has gone from simple angular geometry with a flat texture slapped on it to a fully modeled ear. You can see other areas that have been smoothed out as well like the jawline.



Also keep in mind this is only from the first month of preliminary testing, which by the time the expansion is out will have been two years in the past. I would assume the overall difference between the old and new models will be even more stark by the time we see them in game. I'm quite looking forward to the big reveal!

You may be thinking of when they were talking about NPCs. They said that any made up of character creator parts would be good to go immediately, but those with custom models will be updated in waves.

Launching an expansion without the new race it's being sold on would certainly be an odd choice. I think it's pretty safe to say they'll launch in the same manner as the other races.

If anything, it'd mean Hrothgals are already made with the new graphics. It'd be kinda redundant to make them with the current graphics only to update it within the year.

Nevermind that Hrothgar is a beast race, you can't be a furry unless you identify as one, this coment is rich coming from a scaley and people can play whatever they want regardless of what other people say.

What's being/not being a furry got to do with playing a certain game? I'm willing to bet some gil that every MMO has a "furry" race at this point. Heck, even MOBAs do.

I mean, I play au ra, and it is my most played even after all the fantasias, but I wouldn't really call myself a "scaly". I do like dragon races though, even the WoW one is pretty cool - I really like the humanlike form. In D&D I also like draconic bloodline sorcerer, so it is overall an aesthetic I like, but I still have never played something like an argonian or something (they are ugly).

Sorry Sturm, the "scaly" comment wasn't directed at you. I do enjoy the draconic look a lot and would have loved to have an Au'ra that was more like the concept art from HW. With that said I do not hate them, I wouldn't play as one personally. I prefer the more fluffy feline/canine aesthetic and the more feral the better, but that again is a personal preference.
Again I am sorry for my wording, I didn't mean to single Au'Ra, just the one poster who was quick to throw bricks when they live in a house of glass.
