This was the case with our Anden as well. Since he shares how he used to interact with Ardbert and his friends back then.
Yeah or it just leaves wiggle room for the player to formulate their own assumptions like our Crystarium Vii, possibly being a Voeburtite, with her name. The clan thing I think isnt set in stone, since you also see that happen with the Hellsguard and Sea Wolf clans where you have some Hellsguard going with traditional sea wolf names rather than sticking to their own conventions and vice versa. To be fair, naming conventions are kind of awkward. Setting aside the excuse that what has been documented in the official posts on Hrothgar nomenclature are Sharlayan misconceptions, you have Lost with Helion namesakes and vice-versa. Dabog Invisch is a Helion with a Lost name.
So if you see weird inconsistencies or the odd name for NPCs that doesn't immediately match what you should be seeing, it's since become normal and will go unexplained.
And it just goes to show that just like in real life, people arent bound by native race for expressing themselves anyway.
o,o okay? I'm not saying that wouldn't be the case.Yeah or it just leaves wiggle room for the player to formulate their own assumptions like our Crystarium Vii, possibly being a Voeburtite, with her name. On one hand, you're right, and that's kind of what everyone else is doing, that is the conversation at hand and I am paying attention to it.
On the other hand, considering this isn't real life, but rather a fantasy world with specific rules which very rare characters tend to break, it's really unlikely. One who does very much establish itself as a World of Hats as a base.
And if you've been paying attention to the conversation, it's already been stated that the Viis (btw, someone else also told you it's Viis, singular and plural) are long-lived people. It's possible that she has outlived the 100 years since the Flood of Light. However, we know nothing of her past, so any conclusion can be drawn and it'd be equally valid. Provided it respected what we do know.
Until further context is provided, and considering this is a world whose story is written rather than evolving organically, one that has had inconsistencies before, I'll keep the most likely scenario that it's just a simple error. It's not an "or" scenario, Atelier. You're free to think however you want about it. I'm just pointing out: it's possible it's a fluke, and people are going in circles trying to justify it.
Otherwise, yeah, I'm not trying to disprove what you guys are saying. Not intentionally at least. If I were to do the same mental exercise you guys are doing, which I have while reading, I'd have nothing to add that hasn't already been said.
TLDR: "Don't forget a more Doylist answer to this is possible. Otherwise, I'm fully content observing your dialogue which revolves around a Watsonian perspective."
...uh Im sensing some weird passive aggressive hostility in this post? Why, when my previous post wasnt trying to disprove anything just adding to what was being said.o,o okay? I'm not saying that wouldn't be the case.

I'm... not though? You're sensing wrong :T if anything I sensed it from yours. Which is why I was trying to justify myself
'-' so umm... Yeah. I'm not trying to be passive aggressive, but I thought you were. And you probably sensed me being a bit defensive and thought it was me being passive-aggressive.
Either way, I'm not trying to bring down the funk by saying "Guys it's a fluke" xD Feel free to think whatever you want out of it. That's what I meant.
...that and... yeah >:| it's Viis.
Oh, ok then. Yeah I wasnt trying to disagree with what was being said anyway.I'm... not though? You're sensing wrong :T if anything I sensed it from yours. Which is why I was trying to justify myself

Ok so my irl friends found this thread and now they're asking for Hrothgar cake.
'-' this is where simping for Hrothgars leads you: peer-pressuring into opening a bakery.
I've had cats my whole life, I'm used to finding hairs in everything, I say go for it.
