1. The lottery is on a 9 day cycle. You can try again.
2. They add new wards/districts on more or less a 6-monthly basis right now, not accounting for the massive housing dump every time a new server is launched.
3. Please stop over reacting. You can play the game without a house. And when you HAVE a house, you'll quickly get bored of it. Do you even have the 10 million+ surplus gil to furnish it?
I'd have to agree.
I mean, is the issue that some are being really selective about specific plots? If so, I don't really understand that since, prior to new wards being added, you just had to throw bids at whatever plot happened to become available.
I'll admit that I was lucky enough to get a (small) house exactly where I wanted one. Granted it's in (what discussion here indicates) is a less desirable location (The Goblet), but fact is I was the only person who bid on it.
And of the three plots nearest my house one (a large plot) was claimed and the remaining two appear to have attracted no interest.
Feel like I'm missing something here. Is the issue that these people that don't have a house will only bid for Medium or Large plots? Surely if someone is that desperate for a house they'd look for, and bid on, a small plot with zero bids against it?

Some are even more picky than that. Someone who already owns a Large in Goblet has been vocal in general Discussion about not being able to move because her plot is so ugly.I'd have to agree.

First world problems.
If you want a house, a Small is sufficient. Anything more than that, and you're playing a game, one you're simply not always going to win.
I agree for sure the easiest way would be to keep everything the way it is but also add instance options for the rest of the players so all players can have a piece of land. There’s no way SE will reconstruct the existing wards, because there are players and FCs who have been living there for 10 years already, those houses they know their neighbors, there are RP places built around neigborhoods, communities built by the current neighborhoods, etc etc. They will not bulldoze what’s currently existing.
I think the best chance is for them is to implement something completely new and separate to the ward system. I really thought Island Sanctuary was supposed to be that system, a private housing. Don’t know why they didn’t use that route.
O I didn't think of transferring to a new data center just to be able to buy a house. You are a genius!! Problem instantly solved!!
Ok for real though... The point I am trying to make is that every player should have the ability to purchase a house not just a select few.
I would have to quit my FC and basically quit all my friends on my DC and start over fresh on a new DC just to buy a house???
My friends can't teleport to my house since I am on a different DC now and DC travel can take around 30 mins from what I have read. Once you get there you can't really do much either so there is not much point in traveling over either...

If they are adding every six months that's pretty decent, some of the people in my network told me it takes years for them to add more.
Also yes I do have enough to purchase and build, decorating may take some time though but that is the carrot on the stick for me to continue playing.
DC travel doesnt take 30 minutes, it takes about 2 minutes and thats me going from Dyna to Crystal. Stop with the excuses, also you can do anything you would do on your own DC, just no FC.O I didn't think of transferring to a new data center just to be able to buy a house. You are a genius!! We did go a few years without new housing wards, and it was partly affected by COVID. But we've had three ward increases roughly 6 months or so apart now over the past year or so.The point I am tryign to make is that Every player should have the option/ability to own a piece of land to put a house, not just a handful of players.

With the number of houses available now, we're actually almost there. Nearly everyone who wants a house could have a house. The problem is the uneven distribution of players. Overpopulated worlds are too full, while underpopulated worlds have entire wards virtually empty. People need to move to where there's more space. I know that's easier said than done if players already have ties to friends, statics and FC's, but usually those things aren't as serious relationships as players seem to think.
