Oh don't worry, it's still hot garbage. Especially now that you can downrank out of Diamond.. whoever thought that was a good idea I'll never know, and I would rather go my entire life without knowing. In what seems to be 8/10 games people don't want to focus fire, resulting in a complete clown show. Something you would THINK wouldn't be an issue at Platinum & higher. A majority of people do not communicate their LB, nor do they use the chat in an effective manner. Everyone's afraid to get banned for saying too much when in reality they're just trying to communicate with their team who isn't listening. We all know the moment someone drafts up that report because you wanted to focus fire someone whos obviously killing your party, SE will hit you with the hammer. Pvping, but then you're punished for Pvping really blows my mind. Good lord, it can be tilting. I know people abuse it, it's Pvp, what did you HONESTLY expect? Player Vs. Player, it's in the name, and no matter what there will always be some heat. Address the people who are obviously harassing others and put the snowflake reports aside (the majority). I know they get probably more reports than any other game daily and it's probably really annoying to have to deal with so many complaints. Square deserves better than that imo.
Between the server ticks deciding most battles, heals, or guards 99% of the time, the hilarious amount of RNG involved in literally everything from start to finish, OHKOing people (actually mind-blowing this is a thing), stun locking (cannot believe this got through development, so sad it's almost hilarious), and people chasing you across the map for that last KB to fill the emptiness, it's quite the circus. I suppose it's something to laugh at, so that's good I guess? None of those things pertain to strategy, it's all cheesy easy if people focus fire, thus making it not nearly as rewarding on a personal level compared to Savage or Ultimate. The ranking is purely RNG, with a MASSIVE downfall now that a losing streak will just completely gut your progress within Diamond. The progress that could have taken all day. Winning a match, then being matched against your previous teammates, then RNG lets you know whos boss, and does it again, and again, and again. Before you know it you're back at the beginning of your current rank while a couple of the people you recently had a good streak with are almost at the next tier. It's somewhat demoralizing in a way. We could brag about ranks, but we all know it's RNG. Denying that would be fairly concerning. Of course, the player count is an issue, but come on we all know why people aren't playing CC, it's so painfully obvious.
I suppose this was their intention. Pvp is mostly a joke, and it will remain as such.
Hey though if you have that god-like Rng from matchmaking to communication, and the process was easy for you, congratulations. That truly is good for you. I find that to be really awesome ^^.
Edit:
Small disclaimer,
-I do not think of myself as the best, nor do I think of myself as the worst Pvper. Aggressively average in my opinion. I've made some epic plays and some questionable ones. Getting better of course as time goes on. My only regret is not getting Crystal during Seasons 1-4. I would not be going through this hell if I had just stomached it at an earlier date.
-I'm currently attempting the climb with a high of Plat3 1*, but now again at Plat4 0*. 8 hours today and have not gone past one full sub-tier. I started yesterday at Bronze1 0* so you could say I have been lucky in some regard. Plateauing HARD on Platinum and I am dreading getting into or anywhere near close to Diamond in fear of losing it all. Not to mention by only a few hours in you're already VSing the same people, going back and forth making little to no progress. Last night I lost x10 in a row, matching the exact same team over and over. Since I could not de-rank I wanted to see just how many times I would be matched against people who have already won against me, or if the matchings would change since it was literally only 10 of us playing at that time. This was an experiment that clearly did not work in my favor. I do know now though, no more playing past midnight -__-. I'll keep going in hopes to find that wave of holy goodness from RNGesus. The best case scenario by the time ques are 30+ minutes I will finish at Plat1, but in reality, if things continue as they are I'd settle for Plat3 and begin ranking at an earlier time next season. I know I'm late, trust me I know I'm late.
