SE insists on micromanaging social interactions, because apparently telling someone to get on the crystal or focus x target is "toxic". Thus, ruining it for everyone else that wants to actually have effective communication in online competitive play.

You could send them some sort of feedback telling them to stop doing that. Just make sure you include that you're part of the alphabet mafia so they listen to you and don't dismiss your idea instantly.

Matchmaking is like that because it is solo-queue, and because the majority of players are going for the "meta job", and it seems the matchmaking is trying to balance it out based on jobs and rank, not only on rank.
Job balance certainly needs adjustment, but for a first patch post-revamp, I think it's decent.
Regarding LBs, I think it's ok. People just don't watch out for LB gauges yet.
Recuperate is fine. People just need to focus target instead of having 5 duels...
But basically, all of this can be adjusted by job balance changes.

And yeah, Top 100 rewards is not good with hackers.

I absolutely disagree with the attitude that PVE players are oh so much more genteel than PVP players - I have often met extremely helpful players in both community, just as I've encountered truly poisonous ones in both. However I do understand that it's impractical to type out text during CC, and the ide of doing so during rezzing is also impractical since (a) many of us want the spawn times reduced and (b) ideally we avoid re-spawning as much as possible anyways.

I really would wish that we would be allowed to type in party chat in the time we have before the match starts- that could allow time for a short macro or quick chat to agree on who to focus and could be really helpful.

What you dont think we need the 30 full seconds to click hello and then stand there chugging elixirs for lack of anything meaningful to do. Gasp. I honestly think the res timers are fine if the stated time was real, but they have that jank black screen then the slow lifting of our character before we can actually move. If they got rid of THAT the resses are probably fine.

This form of PVP comes straight from World of Warcraft and I hated that games PVP with a passion seriously don't understand why that was copied. This is literally the opposite of WoWs PvP. Have you watched AWC? Games take years unless people make hellish mistakes. Healers healing until the heat death of universe and the only way to kill someone is to burn their trinket, burn any immunes they might have then hope you can LoS CC the healer and burn someone down off in Narnia before the healer gets free. This PvP copies Overwatch more than WoW.

My personal pet peeve is Samurai LB. All they need to do is pop their retaliate thing near friendlies, get clipped by some AoE, boom they can one shot anyone through guard.

That is a smart compromise! Not much toxic can happen when you're not even mad at a particular person's performance yet. This is a happy middleground, I think

The fact that they released this patch with multiple broken systems, from the housing lottery to this pvp mode, makes me seriously question the competency of their QA. CC is wildly imbalanced and Purify just straight up does not do what the tooltip says. Unless you have a Warrior, White Mage, Samurai, and arguably Dragoon you are fighting an uphill battle. It is absolutely unenjoyable.
