You care about having your glam be seen you said. You must understand.

I care about how I look. I don't care that anyone sees it other than my friends or others who want to share the experience. If someone doesn't wish to, I have no problem with that. I UNDERSTAND why people want to force their creations on others, but I don't find it a positive or healthy attitude or practice to support.

Disingenuous if you are talking about the option for people with terrible computers who need to use the lowest possible graphics settings, which then puts models on almost no resolution and in a basic outfit for everyone in the game, along with other poor graphics settings. Not what is being asked here at all.

Oh.. sorry. I thought you said NO other MMO has the feature? I think I've been saying for quite a while that this is also beneficial for performance reasons as well. My apologies if we can now not reach the goalposts you have moved.
so since this is such a DIFFERENT thing you are OK with the suggestion of this same thing happening to FFXIV Yes? Since such a popular other MMO has already done it AND one that literally sells "glamours" for real money directly as a primary revenue source (gw2 has no sub) A slider to change the appearance of EVERYONE ELSE to a default placeholder. Which would in practicality do EXACTLY what the suggested feature here does. Eliminate unwanted appearances on everyone except the player character.

Why do we want to force our creations on others?

Because people derive enjoyment from making people experience their "creativity" and/or making people uncomfortable, regardless if the person on the other end wishes to participate.

Maybe? I don't think clicking the toggle when i'm doing story with randoms and unclicking it when I don't care is going to be horrendously taxing.

It's not any harder than say, changing tabs on my text chat to avoid chats I don't feel like dealing with that day, or enabling and disabling my mentor mark when I don't feel like answering questions or helping.
