TBF single pulling tanks are kinda toxic.
TBF single pulling tanks are kinda toxic.
It shouldn't be that simple, because you need to explain your case, why you are offended by it, how it affected you emotionally and based on all of that, they can determine you were really hurt by this and assess if what they said could reasonably be deemed rude in certain circumstances.
You just need to open Support Desk in the support menu and Report Harassment and fill out the template.
I don't think that it happens 2-3 times daily, but it might in your region (EU) because when I've played on EU data centers I have come across a lot of extremely rude players in roulettes who have no regard for the rules. They just berate anyone they consider to be playing poorly. But I don't see it in NA.
I had that sort of harassment when I started the game as a tank many years ago, but more frequently the harassment took the form of people exiting the duty in silence or a rude comment at the very end before leaving. The rules weren't as general back then so they could use loopholes to get away with it. The harassment went away when I had cleared all of the dungeons once and knew what to expect in those dungeons and started pulling big. Then when I decided to play as dark knight, afew party members demanded that I pull wall to wall and stop tanking like thancred, dps proceeded to pull lots of mobs then complain that I didn’t rush over to grab aggro
I use it to rescue people all the time. Sometimes you have to be behind something to survive and it's useful then. Sometimes people go to the wrong side and then start running to the safe spot too late, and you can rescue them into the safe spot in time. Sometimes you know a mechanic will hit the exact spot someone is standing and you can save them. If someone has a debuff that makes them run around like crazy or a forced march, you can pull them to the safe spot. It has a lot of uses, even if some people only use it for griefing. So yup, big downgrade in the community - I could go on but I think people get the picture, rescue should hopefully get removed too, it’s good on paper but I’ve only ever seen it used as a griefing thing
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

So EU is the real toxic region? *takes notes*

My guess is that an average player is less casual than in NA while being more blunt in how they talk, and I think it's a cultural difference. They don't like people being "lazy" or "not carrying their weight" and things like that. I don't play on EU data centers much but the fact I encountered so many incidents in the few times I queued for roulettes last time is interesting. Because I can do 200 roulettes in NA and have no such experience.
And no, none of the harassment was aimed at me. I was just a quiet observer of it.

Next time I get bored I think I'll go roll a character on EU and see what's up cause I'm curious. I've seen something similar occur on Materia where NA players were getting publically shamed in a run of CT since a tank decided to do a strat they weren't familiar with (calling him useless, stupid, other words I won't use because they aren't PC, etc.) I haven't seen anything comparable during my time on NA but I am only one person so maybe others have seen otherwise. My guess is that an average player is less casual than in NA while being more blunt in how they talk, and I think it's a cultural difference. As someone who has spent the majority of their time on an Eu Datacentre (Chaos specifically), I really do not encounter many incidents of anyone saying anything at all. Generally, runs are quiet except the o/ gg at the start and end.My guess is that an average player is less casual than in NA while being more blunt in how they talk, and I think it's a cultural difference. However, I cannot speak for the differences in how things are worded between EU and NA however, I suspect it might come across more rude/blunt because we don't want to add extra words where they aren't necessary, especially if you consider the fact there are several languages in Europe, pretty much every country has their own. Luckily, most have some basic understanding of English, so keeping things short and simple to make them easier to understand will go a long way. Plus, different countries here have different mannerisms, what might be considered rude to one country might just be the norm somewhere else.
If someone from NA wants to experience the EU DF, go ahead, just keep in mind what you might consider rude is just how we do things over here.
I assume you're directing that at me since I referenced wanting to visit and I'm not unfamiliar with the European mindset and the way things are said. Ironically enough I'm actually dating someone irl who spent several years living in multiple different countries (UK, Spain, Hungary, Ukraine) and learned much from him about how things work there. I won't be offended unnecessarily, don't worry. C: I actually have an appreciation for people who are direct about what they think but I'm also a believer in education about terms that are actually damaging. As someone who has spent the majority of their time on an Eu Datacentre (Chaos specifically), I really do not encounter many incidents of anyone saying anything at all. No, it was done as extra info onto Jeeqbit's post to try and explain, with a bit more detail, why there is a potential difference in how the different regions communicate.I assume you're directing that at me since I referenced wanting to visit and I'm not unfamiliar with the European mindset and the way things are said. However, what I do find interesting is that fact you assumed I was meant to quote you? Just as an observation, I didn't mention anyone specifically when mentioning someone from NA coming to EU. It was a generic statement meant to apply to anyone from NA. So, was it perceived that the post I made had the wrong quote in it and was definitely directed at you specifically, despite the fact nothing in the post suggested otherwise except the vague thought of you mentioning you wanted to?
I'm trying to be very careful with my wording in this post so as to not potentially come across as offensive, but, to be blunt, this is a classic example of Americans thinking everything revolves around them, which is just a foreign concept to us over the pond.
I'm not offended. Just thought it was a reference because I said something about wanting to visit right above your own post. My apologies if I was wrong but now this seems to be getting blown out of proportion and leading to assumptions that I think the world revolves around me due to a simple mistake. Let's call it a coincidence then and move forward? No, it was done as extra info onto Jeeqbit's post to try and explain, with a bit more detail, why there is a potential difference in how the different regions communicate.
