    because the chance is really really rare to get the weapon for my main class which i prefer.

    We beat Ifrit in any combination of Classes/Jobs as long as there is 1 Tank and a Healer among it...

    The Lag thing due to server merge is no excuse as well...the lag on our server became way more as well, but just yesterday some LS members killed Ifrit over and over w/o any issue...

    It all comes down to skill...people who don't know what they are doing, won't get it done, simple thing...especially a big problem with PUGs...just did an AV Speedrun with LS members yesterday (w/o even trying) with members who haven't even beaten the instance yet, still we got it done, although it wasn't even our intention...

    All I know is Ifrit and me are not getting along very well, 100+ wins and 3 weapons.... for the jobs I have under 20. >.>

    Not a single totem just lots and lots of Dark matter. ; ;

    and thats why i think its better to remove item and totem (blabla) drops..
    the drop system is shity right now. Rare chance of a drop, you have 7 other players with you who have the chance to get the weapon... and then there are 7 different class weapons .... the chance is almost zero to receive the weapon of your desire.

    and just let ifrit drop "an Essence of the goddess", "Tear of Ifrit" or whatever... and let us them exchange at the Quest-NPC for a weapon.


    i say, why not? the chance of getting the weapon for my favorite class is going to 0.
    it is not about making it easier... just replace the chance of dropping a weapon to droping a "Tear" or whatever as a raw material for the Quest-NPC to create a weapon for it.


    i say why not? any arguments against it?

    I think Ifrit is only difficult in the sense that the server doesn't update character position often enough (this has been discussed before though) and the lag in general.

    As for higher totem drop rates... I agree with this, I'd sooner see visible progress with each run rather than crossing my fingers. Make the nut/totem drop rate 100% for each person then remove weapons from pool. If people think 70 runs isn't enough for 7/7 weapons then we can always alter the exchange rate.

    Personally I think they should stagger it in a way that lets more casual people get the weapon they want but also pushes people who want 7/7 completion. For example; first weapon costs 15 totems, second one 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45. That means you need 210 runs for 7/7 and I think 210 times is enough times to repeat Ifrit to get your weapons honestly. Casual people who might only care about playing 1/2 classes can get the weapons they need with 35 runs, people going for completion can go the whole 210 runs. Either way, we get to see visible progress with each fight instead of praying that the planets align and that groveling in front of the chest worked.

    For the record, in Primal Battles every player gets their own chest, so other players have 0 effect on your drop rate.

    I know what I'm doing on that fight and lag (character position update) kicks my ass everytime.

    I suppose you are one of those people that likes animation lock because it separates the people who are paying attention and who are not hmm.

    I'll be so F'ing glad when we move to the new servers at least we can combat the boss and not the servers.

    Sound like a case of the few carrying the rest if you ask me, which you can do in any MMO.

    AV/CC/DH don't have the same issues with server lag as Ifrit, they are tougher IMO but once you know the fight not much can go wrong.

    I wasn't even refering to you O.o

    I was refering to Tonkras comment:

    well i can speak from myself.. that i have seen no one coming out of ifrit since two days alive.. maybe they didnt had that perfect group setup..
    He was totally exaggerating the case and this can't be just blamed on Server Lag.

    BTW: I'm not a friend of animation lock as well, but we have to deal with it til 2.0 (if their "new" servers" will actually keep up to their promises...), but no one coming out alive of Ifrit for 2 days? That is to blame on severe lack of skill...not on your group setup or animation lock...which is why I said we beat him with any setup...which is the case and it is for most organized LSs. You don't have to stack BRD/BLM for Ifrit or Moogle, we beat them both with heavy Meele setups or just balanced setups as well.

    I agree, w/o animation lock and shit, more people would be able to defeat him or some people could avoid a wipe due to that, but it's doable with the animation lock and since there is nothing we can change about it...suck it up.

    I suspect one of the reasons may be that you can give away Totems/Nuts to other players. Theoretically speaking, it will then only take two~three fights for a person to get a weapon of their choice if all members were generous enough in giving it to one person if they make them 100% drops.

    That's not to say they're going about the correct way, of course.

    5 Totems and 10 Nut charms in 1.22....as if anyone will still care about up to that point when Garuda Weaps are gonna be 20 items to exchange for a weap prolly...

    I'm not even "relieved" by this decision, cause I was expecting it...when we got AF Weaps and Garuda Weaps(prolly) in 1.22 leaving the exchange rate for Ifrit/Moogle weaps at what it is right now, would just cause frustration...

    PS: By the time 1.22 is out I expect to not even care about Ifrit/Moogle weaps anymore...

    i just say... they can leave the drop rate like it is now (im not talking about changing drop rate!..).. just change weapon drops into one [key item] which i can exchange at the Quest-NPC (who crafts a weapon with that key item).

    im not talking about totems or what the heck ever.
    the only difference is... now you can receive a weapon drop from a class you never wanted to have... and with a key item to exchange at quest npc you can chose the weapon. which i think is more enjoyable for all who have completed many runs.

    im not doing these runs to finally get a warrior weapon.. because i never play warrior/mauradeur....
