What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

I do hope that by "residents of this thread" you're referring to everyone who engages with the thread in general, not strictly the people who agree with its premise.

In all seriousness this thread probably wouldn't even exist much less drag on as long as it did if people could accept that XIV isn't unassailably flawless and agree to disagree about certain things. This is the only community I've ever been in where I feel like you have to fight to have a negative opinion about certain subjects and it's both frustrating and alienating.

I'm not going to go around decrying people for taking no issues with or loving the plot and other "sensitive" subjects, but I will bite back if see people trying to refute the reasons others have for disliking it and there's an easy counterargument to be had.

You might not but it's too far gone at this point. There has been someone very vocal in this thread frequently implying that people who like the story lack critical thinking. Saying you will bite back when it's a neverending spiral is kinda pointless.

Why do you think it's so hard to have a negative opinion about the game (or aspects of it) when there are so many people who agree with you? When there are so many threads highly critical about aspects of the game?
