What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

My problems with the story are almost all revolving around the scions. Who should be put to rest by now but cause of how popular they are ofc we won't ever get rid of catmommy or dadcred or the twins. And how they die each expansion again and again, especially Y'shtola just to magically survive.

My dream is that they actually dump the scions, make them disband and follow their own goals. Yes maybe catch up with them in some sidequests here and there. But please make a fresh start and let us meet really new characters. Some that maybe don't trust us blindly. Some which motives we don't already know. Some that we can explore again and don't know in and out by now.

Cause by hydaelyn if Y'shtola delivers again a exposition speech next patch i will start calling her Morgan Freeman.

This is what I was hoping to see for the post expansion story here in EW, but alas not. It's just more of the same.

Yeah next patch we get to see the twins again and i fear the next expansion we will just all venture into the void together with our discount Zenos and all our "friends". So much for new beginnings and newfound adventures.

Unlikely, since Yoshi-P has stated there are no hints whatsoever leading to where we're going for the next expansion, apparently. Meaning hopefully the Void will be wrapped up by 6.4 at the latest and 6.5 will be the game slapping us with events leading to the next expansion.

I do hope so, i fear we will go to Meracydia after we saved dragon sis. Still a whole continent unexplored in the source though the Allagans nuked that place and captured all their primals. But i fear it will be somethign Emet spoilered already.

What i would love to see though is just us traveling to another shard, far away from all the scions and meet new people and start as a "new" adventurer to these places. Would be a great opportunity to let the devs run wild and not stick completely to old concepts. Would be nice to see a rather modern shard. Something between Garlemald and the Crystarium maybe.
