    Food scale and a book to record everything. Some of the fancier food scales will tell you calories too which is nice.

    When it comes to counting calories...I tend to count what I DRINK more than I eat. I use to drink a lot of soda and those calories add up extremely quickly. I lost a noticeable amount of weight in just a little over a month when I cut out soda.
