Yeah, I think 6-8 hours a week is a lot more accurate for an average raider. Lots of groups I know will just do 2 3hr sessions per week. This late in the tier, a lot of groups meet for less than 2 hrs to knock out their weeklies and are done.

Speaking of no-lifers, I've known a few groups that approach 40hr/wk, even outside of week 1 raiding. As much as I love raiding, it is honestly mortifying to me that anyone could spend full-time job hours staring at agdistis.

But I mean, its kinda true? Most of the people Ive encountered or raided are just as casual as I'm with jobs and hectic irl schedules and responsibilities that keep them away from playing games. This isnt the early 2000s anymore with this generation of MMO players.

Which is why FFXIV's raid philosophy actually is favorable amongst the general populace.

I mean...unless its week 1 and you're racing to clear, 12-16 hours a week seems kind of excessive, but then again I don't pug so I dunno. Most statics I've been in usually have a window of around 2 hours on raid nights and raid 3 or 4 nights a week.

This lol. I'm not a teenage anymore. I'm too damn old to be hunting HNM's with 36 hour spawn timers in FFXI. No matter how much I loved that game I MUCH prefer the end game of FFXIV now a days.

And by OP's logic, the tier should be unlocked immediately upon release. Because if midcore and casual statics don't need it then neither do the hardcore statics that clear it all week 1. If it exists for people who clear week 1 and reclear for 8 weeks straight only, then why shouldn't it exist for all the statics that take longer than that?
