    ... this is a complete strawman, mate. Nowhere does the OP even insinuate this. What they're saying is they can't flex roles for potential Ultimate statics despite having cleared the tier already. Which is correct. In fact, I was in that exact scenario for Dragonsong. I can play Dragoon and Summoner but don't yet have the gear for them despite Savage being out for eighteen weeks.

    Not to mention, they're asking for the odd patch to make gearing easier. The literal point of odd patches is catching players up. So it stands to reason unlocking Savage earlier makes sense. You keep insisting this will somehow ruin the prog of casual statics. It doesn't impact them whatsoever. What difference does it make to their prog if Savage is unlocked? They still have to finish the fights and collect the gear if they so desire. Most casual statics are simply excited to finish a tier before the next one releases. Gear is a bonus. Meanwhile, Midcore groups aren't clearing 4-5 months into a tier's lifecycle. If they are, they're casual not midcore.

    There are multiple types of raiders

    1 job only = players that are too lazy to learn other jobs to raid. but/or actually wants to learn other jobs but because of the loot lockout, it took 8 weeks just to get full bis per job from 19 different jobs. aint nobody got time for that

    multiple jobs = players that want to learn every single jobs to raid. well maybe at maximum 5 jobs (1 job per role). and will keep raiding until the next savage tier

    multiple characters = players that want to keep raiding every single days by playing a different characters on same/different server. this also apply for 1 job only players

    multiple accounts = bots/RMTers like selling clear. lol

    Really I can't think of a good reason to even have a loot lockout in the first place, aside from getting players to stay subbed longer.

    Edit: I thought of another benefit. Players in statics can join pugs without screwing over their static in terms of coffers.

    Its a simple solution. If you actually care about the content you will have cleared by then, and have BiS gear in Week 8.

    There is no logical reason to hardlock the instance and loot after 8 weeks, People want to gear multiple jobs and cant.
    You do realize not everybody can just spend every waking hour of this game in raid, right? And some people learn certain mechanics faster than others.

    It's always the same story. We ask for unlock to be earlier and gear to be easier to get because we want to play more and try out some alts.

    People who likely barely do Savage parrot on about how it's meant to force people to stay subbed, throw out salty passive aggressive "you should raid with your 610 gear at min ilv for the challenge" and jump through hoops trying to argue how the whole miserable system that forces you into one job and discourages helping out friends over the week is great.

    Meanwhile we just stop playing. It sucks, it's not fun, we aren't doing the tome and gear treadmill for 2+ months for one alt job. Nor are we dragging poorly geared alts in for reclears. I love Savage, but personally I've never played the game less this expansion. I'm bored to death of tomes, locks, long waits for alt gear and all the rest. Arguing doesn't make me less bored, it's an opinion, so we leave feedback.

    I've taken to leveling a separate character I moved to Halicarnassus just because the EXP gains are so insane. A month in and I have eight jobs at 70+ The fact I even have to do that just to do more Savage is ridiculous.

So it actually does benefit SE as more players will be available/willing to help those who haven't cleared the tier yet.

    most people in this game raid 12-16 hours a week

    and still clear relatively quickly.
