Sometimes we just wish our closest family could still be with us and join us.

After losing my sister to breast cancer, I shifted from the "yay xmas" side to the "damn, this time of year is tough" side.

One can put on a brave face. and be nice to strangers, but by gosh, that grief gets tough at this time of year.

(Still no cause for OP's grump to be a grump though - sometimes this community just sucks)

I don't get why the community has to be thrown under the bus. It's just the way people are in general. Everyone handles things differently. In the end, you have the choice in how you respond to things. When the OP talks about even thinking of naming / shaming, they've already lost and sunk to the other person's level, which is why I say it should've been left alone.

I'm in the same FC as OP. This is literally all he was doing. Some rando got upset on behalf of others and threatened op with a report despite never having any interaction. If you don't want the cookies, just say you don't want the cookies. Not that hard.

Not that hard to also ask before giving stuff out.

On one hand, it's less intrusive to first send a tell explaining what you're doing and asking if they want a cookie. I get that some people find random trades to be like walking down the street and a vendor just shoving their product on your face before asking if you're interested.

On the other hand, really? We're going to throw a fit just because someone made the trade menu happen. We get it, it's annoying, just decline or walk away. If they insist, then sure, it's a problem. If it gets in the way of what you're doing (which trading does do), and it's clearly done with malicious intent, then it's a problem. But the one time thing isn't going to kill you. Sometimes people click stuff by mistake anyway, you gonna report them for that? You gonna be that guy?

Yes, but the person threatening the report was someone he had zero interaction with. No one else had an issue with what he was doing. If it's not bothering anyone then why were they upset?

I have not been following the story too closely so if the person had zero interactions with how did they know he was giving out cookies? Waa he advertising in shout if that was the case and not spamming sure it was unwarranted, but that did not seem to be the case.

I don't know the whole story yet either. I just assume whenever people do crap like this it's not because there's an actual issue but because they want to feel powerful for ten seconds, like marking a message for deletion on GameFAQs because someone spoke out against bad thing or flagging Youtube videos not sucking off current popular game. I'm hoping he'll be on tonight so I can get the full picture.

Edit: Okay so the person taking offense in question was entirely in the wrong. He was kicked out of his raid group for it and it wasn't the first time he was trashy towards others. No shout chat was used, Fult just walked up asked if they wanted a cookie and they just melted down. Moral of the day: don't be an ass if you aren't prepared for the consequences.

I wasn't forcing anything, All I was doing was offering a cookie on Christmas day wasn't forcing it onto them so stop right there....

Have you heard of just being nice to people?? just being nice to folks for no other reason than just being nice or is that a problem for folks in this community???
