Considering the only peoples with any relevance in Sharlayan are knifeears and wonderbreads theres your answer (amazing how sharlayan was founded by a roe but theres not 1 roe of import in sharlayan hmmmmmmmmmmm)Please don't quote that as gospel. Because as Iscah also pointed out, that's been retconned away. It's a thing we've been complaining about since Bozja hit.
It's already been confirmed that the distinction between Lost and Helion is a Sharlayan misconception. Your fur pattern and physical appearance in no way dictates your name. You have Helions with -asch and Lost with A- names within Bozja itself.
Which does bring into question how Sharlayan even managed to hold itself as "the pinnacle of knowledge" when they get something so basic wrong despite having Hrothgar in their midst... but you know, slay.
x,x; the only two Roes I remember sticking out to me were the one guy in the Forum that just "voted", and the guy in the crafting leves who really wants to lecture people on Bozjan history.
Given how they've butchered our lore, I very much DO NOT trust him to do a good job.
There's a Roe... lecturing people on Bozjan history...x,x; the only two Roes I remember sticking out to me were the one guy in the Forum that just "voted", and the guy in the crafting leves who really wants to lecture people on Bozjan history.

Freaking amazing lol. Way to go, Square, 10/10.
/s
It's worse than it looks. It's heavily implied he rants about it and absolutely f*cking no one is willing to listen to him.
Even when you find him sitting in a bench outside the library place, he's still trying to lecture people in Bozjan history, trying really hard to keep people interested.
Now, I know it's not good to dwell on stuff like this, but... gee Square, given how you've dealt with the whole thing lately, it comes off as what the kids call "not cool".

What? Where is this guy? What is he even saying?x,x; the only two Roes I remember sticking out to me were the one guy in the Forum that just "voted", and the guy in the crafting leves who really wants to lecture people on Bozjan history.

"Melting pot of cultures and populations" who can't bother getting one thing right about a race. Bravo.Except for Moenbryda and her parents, and the researcher running the variant dungeons, and... what exactly are you trying to catch SE out on, anyway? There seem to be a number of them around the place. They don't need to be the important ones when the whole concept of Sharlayan's population is that it's a melting pot of different races and cultures.
Actually, my point is that it hasn't been retconned, just never been discussed, to the point it could easily be declared non-canon and officially overwritten without interfering with information in the game so far, only disrupting out-of-game resources like the naming conventions.
There is pretty clearly a Roegadyn population in Bozja in addition to the Hrothgar majority.
Why do we rely on these people again?
And on the topic of retcons, uh, how about the fact that it has been declared that it was a Sharlayan misconception + the fact that we see it in-game? It doesn't have to be discussed when the actions made explicitly go against what was previously established. I know it's awkward, but not everything needs to be stated with words. If I claim to be a renowned painter and draw like a 5 year old, am I a painter just because I say so?
It's in the game.
Also, on your response to Zebra... Yeah, I think everyone knows that. If anything because Misija was a Roegadyn. Same as Gunnhildr. Whose race being covered up was kind of a major plot point and part of Misija's motivation for turning bad. ALSO, Bozja had a Caste system. Do you want to go to India and ask how many times the Untouchables had a major foothold in history and their cultural identity? How often their records actually mattered? In a Macro-scale, that is... you know... kinda like the topic we're on?
You literally had to ask this when my PSU fried and I can't verify in-game, so I needed to do the roundabout thing! xD
First of all! Thank you Gamerescape for transcribing stuff. So, onward!
The Lv 80-90 Tradecraft Leves issued by Gygge in Sharlayan sometimes are requested by a guy called "Studium Substitute History Lecturer, Snoeharr". And virtually every single Tradecraft leve he appears in discusses either Garlean history or Bozjan history, sometimes even linking the two.
That Snoeharr is an NPC sitting at a bench in front of the library building in Sharlayan just above in the Northwestern part of the map. You can actually talk to him.
And he's always portrayed, both in those leves and in his own dialogue, as someone who wants to talk about a topic but no one cares to stay and listen to his lecture, with quotes as:
Before one can consider themselves a true scholar of Bozja, one must deepen their understanding of Hrothgar culture and its uniquely structured matriarchal soci─what's that? You haven't the time, eh? Well, then fetch me a good gunblade, and I shall leave you be. (History of the Hrothgar, Lv 82 Blacksmith leve)andThe Garlemald Republic's evolution into an imperial state is quite fascinating, really. You see, the introduction of magitek technology was the─what's that? No time to chat? Well, then, if you can provide me with a reaper's war scythe, I shall take my leave. (Records of the Republic, Lv 84 Blacksmith leve)
Also, that quote cannot be entirely verified, because he changes dialogue with the MSQ. Currently he says...The tale of the pauper who became king has been passed down for generations throughout Ilsabard. Close scrutinization of the names of locations described in the story, however, reveals the possibility that this Ivalice actually exis—what's that? You're not here for my lecture?(default quote)
So :| the only one who cares about Garlean history and has any insight on what very little exists on Bozjan lore... aaaaaand no one wants to hear him |DThe Ragnarok's return has brought with it numerous discoveries, particularly about the history of the sea of stars—I beg your pardon? You're still not here for my lecture?
Gee, imagine actually caring about the world you're building, hmmm....

I think you're looking for offense where it isn't intended. "Scholars are boring" is a trope. He has to have some topic to talk about endlessly. It might as well be a series of nods to topics discussed elsewhere in the lore.
A bad trope. This is exactly the same as talking with Erik where the player character is such an absent-minded scatterbrain they can't focus on the converstaion for two seconds, proving the Professor's asshatty remarks accurate. At least you can ask Erik to provide some info afterwards. I doubt any information is available here.
Let's be honest, it's just an excuse to not write the lore until it's absolutely necessary, even though simply throwing a bone would be better than nothing.

Honestly, if the Hrothgar do see some more developed Lore with the inclusion of the Female Counterparts, Im all for it.
Sure, I can side with and be utterly freaking annoyed with how the Hrothgar lore has been handled thus far, but if we could see some more love their way with them as a 'Complete Race' then Id be fine with that.
The Lions havent gotten alot of love. And it would be a shame if come 7.0 they dont finally see it.
No Shade, but unlike the Viera crowd, we have been patient and 'mostly' trusting on the team to deliver later.
If our silence isnt rewarded, then it just proves and gives validation that being a pain is the only way to see results.
And I DONT want that to be the lesson learned after 4 years

Dammit SE, Let me listen o this guy's stories!!! Whether they are bad or good, doesn't matter I still want to hear them out. But I guess I will have to wait until it will be plot relevant. It would have been nice if you could bring this guy a Gunblade (as a side quest) and he would tell you a little bit of lore about the Hrothgar, or a scythe and he would tell you more about Garlemald. It wouldn't need to be a long story, but maybe something short and interesting. Like the last days of the Queen before the Garlemald invasion or How Solus zos Galvus came to power."Melting pot of cultures and populations" who can't bother getting one thing right about a race. Bravo.
