Except they are separate tribes tho bc 1) no mentions of Queen/Martriarchal-despite-0-women-existing trash for hrothgar on norvrandt and 2) they have different PUPILS and fur colors. These are not things predictated on systems of governance. They're decidedly different and thereby at least 1 of the 2 should not have a stupid hunch that everyone hates

Though Hrothgar form their own clan-like communities, they, as a race, cannot be divided into distinct “clans” with separate traditions and features. They are instead most often sorted into the categories of “Helion” and “Lost,” according to their social status─but these labels, too, were imposed by scholars of the other races rather than the Hrothgar themselves, and have unfortunately led to certain misconceptions, such as the popular belief that Helions always have golden fur.

But see what they wrote as lore doesnt matter bc they immediately ruined what little they did write for hrothgar in bozja.
"Oh? You think the hrothgar homeland neans we'll bother making even 1 female npc so that any part of their society makes sense? No, we don't care enough about this race to make an effort, have some eorzean race fill in as Queen and make some excuse like queens are actually chosen by a cabal of sorcerers rather than being racially similar to the natives."
Theres no justification for hrothgar having a hunch because the devs couldnt be bothered to follow thru on anything that would make sense for the race as of the bozjan storyline, and it should be removed. No one likes the hunch, every cutscene as a hrothgar player uses a hyur run cycle to not show the awkward hrothgar headbob run, just ax the hunch.

Please don't quote that as gospel. Because as Iscah also pointed out, that's been retconned away. It's a thing we've been complaining about since Bozja hit.

It's already been confirmed that the distinction between Lost and Helion is a Sharlayan misconception. Your fur pattern and physical appearance in no way dictates your name. You have Helions with -asch and Lost with A- names within Bozja itself.

Which does bring into question how Sharlayan even managed to hold itself as "the pinnacle of knowledge" when they get something so basic wrong despite having Hrothgar in their midst... but you know, slay.

a hunch that ruins 80% of chestpiece glam should be allowed to be explained "bowing" when 1 of the 2 hrothgar tribes do not HAVE queens to begin with (Lost).
If the women dont have the stupid hunch they need to remove it from the men, it sucks, its trash, Ronso are perfectly straightbacked DESPITE having digifeet there was no good gd reason to give hrothgar "generic mmo beast race spine problems" especially not when god knows the women are going to get hit hard with "oh they need to appeal to men who wont play them, they need to be as ootseycutesy as possible" disease like femaura did.

Considering the only peoples with any relevance in Sharlayan are knifeears and wonderbreads theres your answer (amazing how sharlayan was founded by a roe but theres not 1 roe of import in sharlayan hmmmmmmmmmmm)

It's worse than it looks. It's heavily implied he rants about it and absolutely f*cking no one is willing to listen to him.

Even when you find him sitting in a bench outside the library place, he's still trying to lecture people in Bozjan history, trying really hard to keep people interested.

Except for Moenbryda and her parents, and the researcher running the variant dungeons, and... what exactly are you trying to catch SE out on, anyway? There seem to be a number of them around the place. They don't need to be the important ones when the whole concept of Sharlayan's population is that it's a melting pot of different races and cultures.

Actually, my point is that it hasn't been retconned, just never been discussed, to the point it could easily be declared non-canon and officially overwritten without interfering with information in the game so far, only disrupting out-of-game resources like the naming conventions.

There is pretty clearly a Roegadyn population in Bozja in addition to the Hrothgar majority.
