How the hell do people drink Fantasia?

There's no single race that fits my tastes, so eventually there's always SOMETHING that bothers me enough to change my race.
Moon Miqo and Viera are closest, but unfortunately Viera is a dumpster fire and Moon Miqos are not tall enough for me and have weird pupils.

I don't like Au Ra much but have been one at times because limbal rings are the closest we have to colored contacts, which I enjoy.


Contact lenses? Tanning/whitening creams?

They are talking about much more significant changes than mere creams can achieve. Contact lenses do not change the underlying physiognomy. Changing the shape and length of body and head features also requires significant genetic alterations. Although, I suppose this is where you are probably going to bring up cosmetic surgery. Newsflash, aestheticians are not physicians and have no skills in terms of surgery. You can have all the cosmetic surgery in the world and it won't change what you are. Fantasias on the other hand, DO change what you are. They are the magical equivalent of going straight to the nuclear option.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Its a fantasy game with magic LOL. Contact lenses would allow the changes to be explained without magic but it isn't necessary to begin with. Aestheticians aren't physicians but you need a dermatologist(a doctor ) to remove a tattoo, and they don't do it in a single session using a scissor while Jandelaine does, who is, like you said, not a physician. Hmmmm...

The aesthetician also is weirdly capable of drawing rings on Au Ra eyes. I wonder how he does it.

The aesthetician appears to rely on conventional means to make superficial changes. Adding or removing tattoos is a superficial change when compared to the more extreme changes that would require altering the genetics of the subject. Fantasias ARE magic. Powerful magic. I will grant you that one on the Au Ra. Such changes in my opinion should also require the use of fantasia, unless Au Ra have some inherent built-in ability to alter their eye color with a bit of external help.

All of this aside though, people who are asking for the aesthetician to be able to perform changes that would normally require fantasias, are essentially asking SE to give them stuff that is a money-maker for SE, for free. I seriously can not see this happening.
