Why Is Dynamis Dead

Where's the irony in saying that Dynamis is a dead server and that new players have to DC travel to do the MSQ? Older players/vets/ect have no incentive to DF queue in a dead server, like at all, and why would they stay around for an extremely long que for the handful of new players that don't know about DC travel? Would you do that? Or are you content with staying in Crystal for a ~5min que pop if you're tank/healer, and about 10-15mins for a DPS?

There's no complaints about filling for "filler content" - if Oizen wanted to find people to do filler content with, they would literally go to Aether. Bam, done. It doesn't solve the issue that the new servers are dead as hell, more or less.

I'll get to the irony part when I reply to Oizen below.

I've got 4 characters on Marilith. One is on the back burner for the moment (it's the character I created on Marilith for the gil bonus). One is on 4.0 MSQ - just finished Doma Castle (queued for it on Marilith, almost instant queue). One is on 6.0 MSQ - just did The Dark Inside. Again, queued for it on Marilith and that was a 6 minute queue but trial queues take longer so only 6 minutes was a nice surprise. The last is my Marilith main that just needs to get 6.2 MSQ done but I keep putting it off while working on house decorating and playing the other characters. I'll be honest - I'm expecting the queue for Storm's Crown to be a pain in the butt since it's the most recent trial and most Dynamis players are working on leveling alts through earlier parts of the MSQ. I might end up going to another data center to get it done.

I go out into the world and I see players. Not as many as I would on Crystal but I'm still seeing other players. Whether it's hunts or tribal quests or gathering, there are other players out there on the Dynamis worlds. Again, not as many as on other NA worlds but still enough that I can say without hesitation that Dynamis is not dead.

What criteria are you using to come to the conclusion that Dynamis is dead? Sitting alone in your house staring at PF?

Dynamis is dead. I don't care about that which is why I moved over there anyway. I've been living by DC travel since it came out, which is why leaving Crystal was so easy for me.

I would not have moved to dynamis if it wasn't for DC travel, and I have a hunch there are a lot in the same boat.

Seems like just about everyone in this thread is using PF as proof that Dynamis is dead. Is that not why you're traveling to other data centers, so you can use PF there?

Do you genuinely not see the irony in your statement when you are traveling elsewhere to find people to fill spots in group for the content you want to do while not being interested in filling spots in groups for other players trying to get the content they want to do done? That's all PF is - a way to find people to fill groups just as Duty Finder is.

If you don't care about the population on Dynamis and you've been using data center travel since it was first implemented, why are you complaining?

Just because you can successfully que for things on Materia during peak times doesn't make it any less dead, also doesn't really change the fact that most people are not queuing for content in Dynamis. Doesn't also invalidate the fact that people are waiting nearly an hour or over on Dynamis for certain ques.

What criteria am I using for saying it's alive? I'm seeing other players on the Dynamis worlds when I'm doing open world content. I'm getting parties formed reasonably quickly when I queue for duties. What other criteria is needed?

If you want to say Dynamis Party Finder is dead, I can't argue that point. But Party Finder is not the whole of the game or of a data center.

It doesn't have enough players to do bare minimum content.
There are frequent PFs from players begging for someone to run Alliance Raids, or even unpopular dungeons unsynced just to get through them.
I dont know how you get any more dead than that, not being able to fill out 4 player content quickly.


Well thats more of a symptom of DC Travel in the first place, its had a negative effect on every single data center that isn't named Aether. You cannot clear the current Savage tier in Crystal PF, it doesn't get the parties.

In many ways, Dynamis was robbed of what little players it has by the existence of DC Travel, though a lot of those players likely wouldn't have transferred in the first place if it wasn't for that system.
The only take away from this is that the Dynamis expansion in the first place was unnecessary. Maybe back during the rush of Endwalker, but definitely not now.

FWIW, I never had issues with getting a quick pop on alliance roulette when I was still on Crystal. It was almost always near-instant, and maaaybe up to 5 minutes on a bad day. And my main play time is normally in the morning, so off peak-hours.

This was my queue from earlier today. I started the queue at about 10am PST and it (Labyrinth) finally popped at 222 minutes. I was on a healer, which was in need, and I have all raids unlocked.

I queued up again tonight at 5:30 PST, also on SGE but not role in-need, and got in at 28 minutes. This has been my quickest queue by far, before this my shortest was 90 minutes.

I'm not one of those people who are clamoring about Dynamis being dead, and I think it will be just fine given some time, but we are definitely struggling ATM on basic content.

I don't think you're understanding, is that people are PFing unsynced MSQ content because they can't get DF to que them into it at all. You can literally see that anytime btw.

So where's your evidence other than a "I saw exactly 10 people in a hunt train scheduled by discord"? You're doing the same thing lmao. Dynamis is only in a better spot because of DC Travel, and even then, it's still dead. DC Travel doesn't change that, I am so sorry to say.

30 minutes is pretty standard. Alliance raid for me in prime time is between 30-60 minutes with other roulettes about the same, queue pop at 45 minutes tonight. The DC is dead, it's especially noticeable given the tome event that's supposed to encourage you to run old content.
The people who leave to go queue on Crystal are a huge contributing factor about why it's so dead.
