Why Is Dynamis Dead

I said holiday season. It's still a season, whether anything is happening or not on a particular day. From Thanksgiving on, there's partying going on til the 31st of December. Things slow down. I've already been to a few parties and have more to go to this weekend and others are likely to pop up. This has been going on since before MMOs even started.

“Touch grass” is an excuse. It’s a funny one—usually used ironically due to its absurdity—but still an excuse.

Let’s take this a step further. I’m sure that all of these parties are likely more fun than playing some video game, which is why everyone is going to them. Why doesn’t SE extend the patch drought so that we have more time to do all of these fun IRL things? No one should feel forced to play a video game against their will. It’s so nice that SE gives us the privilege of going outside.

(By the way, the developers live in Japan, and their holiday season is different than ours. You forgot!)

Quit being so obtuse about this. You (should) know very well that the DC launch was originally supposed to accompany a major patch.

Bingo! Something went wrong with this roll-out, and it’s not on us. And no, I’m sure we’re not “supposed” to know that. We’re not management at Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. (a billion-dollar multinational corporation), and neither are you.

Because DC travel severs us from all community features in our home DCs. We cannot talk to our FCs or message friends. We have to play content solo, which is a major caveat when we might otherwise have at least a friend or two on Dynamis to help out. It’s not ideal, and there is no reasonable excuse.

Cross-DC queues and parties need to be implemented as soon as possible.

Except it's a rare player with strong social circles that isn't also using Discord or a similar app these days. Even if I'm on the same world, I'm far more likely to be talking with them in Discord than using a game channel.

I haven't had to play content solo yet except by my personal choice. Queue wait times for me on Dynamis have generally been about the same as they were on Crystal, maybe a minute or two longer. It hasn't been a hardship. I know PvP is different (I don't PvP to know from personal experience) but otherwise I'm not hearing complaints from anyone in game.

SE already explained why cross DC queues are not currently possible. They didn't say it would never be possible but they made it clear that it's not something players can expect to see happen in the foreseeable future.

If we chose to transfer to Dynamis, then it's on us to work to build a community that others want to be part of. If all you do is spend your time on other worlds, was it really worth transferring to Dynamis just to say you own a house you never use because you're never on your home world to use it?
