Houses should have a monthly fee

Here's my current issue with the housing or lack there of. I pay the same money every month as those who have houses. The only way for me to experience/get the same content as them is the ether get lucky or leave my friends and join some random FC that has a house. Why am I paying for content that I can not use? You can't use airships you can't garden heck you can't even change the color of your chocobo. I feel like SE is taking our money and not giving us what we are paying for. They are robbing there players of content/money.

While we are mostly all asking for instanced housing as present in other games, the problem you have is closer to home.



There is a lot of available housing in NA, ready and ripe for the taking, but you need to move your tail off this particular server and DC to get it.

If housing is important to you, it's there. If you choose not to take it for friends or whatever, then that's your choice.

I think most of us agree that housing should be improved, because quite frankly the way it's made sucks. However, today, we need to work with what we have while continually pushing SE for a change. That change is unlikely to be fast, so in the meantime, if one wants a house then the solution is that.

We might not like it, but for now, that's what it is.

You shouldn't have to, but that's the way things are and that will not be changing. Ever. They would have to do an unbelievable amount of work to move from "physical" housing to instanced housing, to the point that it would be an XIV-2 kind of thing.

Besides, with DC travel, it doesn't really matter what world or DC you're on. It's very easy to play with friends.

Specific to the OP, a property tax or whatever would be pointless. There are virtually no meaningful gil sinks in the game, so people tend to accrue lots of gil over time. You'd have to make the fee like tens of millions of gil per month for it to be remotely meaningful.

The appartments include a stable outside the appartment building, this stable allows you to color the chocobo.

Specific to the OP, a property tax or whatever would be pointless. There are virtually no meaningful gil sinks in the game, so people tend to accrue lots of gil over time. You'd have to make the fee like tens of millions of gil per month for it to be remotely meaningful.

That way, only players who really want a home to decorate or RP venues would buy and utilize the houses rather than. The current situation where a number of players simply purchase them due to their scarcity and FOMO.

I don't think the amount is too exorbitant either for a normal player as 5% of a cottage is only around 150k gil per month and you could easily make back that amount in a single round of daily roulettes.

Though my suggestion is not to punish players but to lessen the demand of houses so that those players who really want them and are willing to pay the mortgage can have better access to the limited housing.

Of course, if there comes a day where any player can own a house on their preferred server with no server limitations (eg instanced housing), then the mortgage can be lifted.

You don't have to leave a server or your friends if you're in the same region. Only a FC can't be used if you move but there are cross world linkshells and DC Travel/World Visit where you can still spend time on your original server and play with your friends. I do it everyday.

FC chat is overrated and we have FC discords today as well where former members can continue to participate. Populations need to be spread out and reduced and made less over crowded. SE is attempting to do that.

Like I said, unless it's tens of millions of gil then it's meaningless. Square-Enix throws tons and tons of gil at players. Just doing a few maps will get you the mortgage cost from raw gil rewards.
