This is factually untrue. It didn't start with Hrothgar and Viera. It started at the same time. The expansion Hroth and Viera released where when they started doing it to old races on all gear too. Whatever changed at SE affected everyone, so it's the same problem.

Your extreme hyperbole aside, not sure why you're trying to turn this into some weird "we have it worse than you" thing. It's all wrong on SE's part and always has been.

Right yeah, you not getting a unique model for every hat, and getting to wear all hairstyles is basically the same as two other races being unable to wear any of the hats that partially hide hair, and have substantially less options in that department too.

It started for Miqo'te in Stormblood. Check some of the level 70 artifact gear. Any that cover the top of the head also lop off our ears. The bard, red mage, and astrologian sets are the most obvious. Pretty sure it happened with other sets in SB, too, but those are the ones I can easily check from the calamity salvager.

Particularly ironic considering that the red mage gear is introduced as the outfit of the job trainer who is a Miqo'te.

And yeah, a quick check through the marketboard shows up plenty of things in Stormblood and even late Heavensward (eg. Star Velvet mage set) with no space for ears. It's a mix of that and things that do have ear-pouches but they're half the size of the actual ears and placed wrongly on the head.

I just don't understand the logic here. Miqo'te are flat out the most popular race, of ALL the races you're going to skimp on, why miqo'te? You HAVE to know the largest group is going to be the most vocal. Why even dig yourself into this hole to begin with? Why this hypocritical stance of "We don't want clipping so we're not going to do X" and then have clipping ALL OVER THE PLACE elsewhere, but then you decide a player's CHARACTER MODEL is where you draw the line and too bad so sad about your racial traits we have STANDARDS in our modeling structure :^) What's that? Ex3's hair, you know, the hair on the penultimate boss of a long awaited story end, has hair clipping all over the place, player hairs clip all the time, but woe unto the earth if a miqo'te's hears clip through a hat!

I really wish I could sit down with YoshiP sometime and, assuming no language barrier at all, just ask him "WHY [various issues including racial trait disappearances]???"

We've been asking that for so long. We have theories, but that's all they are :I

You'd expect them to at least give Miqo'te attention, but no, not even those are safe.

I also remember Lalafell faces get squished to have Hyur faces in PvP gear.

Okay, I get not every gear can easily be adjusted to every race. But :| Again. Why is this?
