Ludicrously oversized as a Midlander, I said. And it is.

Not every piece of furniture, but there are some things that really stand out.

My Midlander doesn't have a house now, but my Miqo'te is around the same height and does have a house. The orchestrion is tall enough he couldn't reach the top of it; the grandfather clock is twice his height; the spiral staircase has knee-high steps and gaps he could slip right through. The Mummer's Shelf has a coat-hook he'd need a ladder to reach. The kettle on the Manor Oven stove is twice as big as his head – or eight times as big by volume.

I won't continue through everything, but those are the sorts of things I had in mind when I said that.

Nah, it's fine. That was me ranting because @w@ I have a love-hate relationship with FF14 Housing.

I think it's "okay" for some stuff. Like... aren't grandfather clocks meant to be large? o: And I do know that the beds are huge. But then you get onto a Roegadyn and it's like "lol tiny". And that'd be fine... if it worked out.

The issue, which I think you should read the rest bc it is sort of relevant to what you said, was that you implied stuff was big because of the bigger races. Hence why it's oversized for you. But then you get the experience of an actually big character, and it's a detriment.

    Miqo'te are short; not a bug, it's a feature.

Pointless trivia but avg male height in Eorzea is around 6 feet compared to our 5'7"

Either way, like I told you on the Accessibility thread, there are people who enjoy the game completely mod-free, even on PC. Even among these races. I understand these are the races that attract modders the most, but they shouldn't be given much credit. Instead, Square should be aware of the problem and direct resources to it.
The mention of modders was likely a reference to my posts.

They were very upset over my mention of how third party modders have created solutions to issues that SE themselves have not bothered to do so. They couldn't seem to come up with any answer towards the idea that SE should better themselves and their product, rather than letting third party creators that have no obligations and who aren't known professionals create solutions to issues that they ignore.

And this isn't glorifying in any way. I'm not here to tell you about how we should all play the game with mods(breaking the rules anyways) or that the game is "better with mods."

I'm using it as a comparison. Call it whataboutism if you want, but my point still stands.

Yes please free our ears when wearing hats! Let us have ear holes like we used to get! We look so weird without them like a hyur with a tail.

I think it's even worse than just "Hyur with a tail", because before you even look down at the rest of the body, what they look like is a Hyur with no ears and it just feels uncanny in a way that isn't an issue when the cat ears are visible.

It does stand. People can be upset at the existence and use of mods all they want. There's an underlying issue that blind hate just tends to sweep away, which is unfortunately the exact sort of complacency that leads to situations like these.

This isn't the case of a silly mod being added that had nothing to do with the base game.
This is when mods actively solve what Square Enix has been neglecting.
It's a case where mods bring people to the same standing level as other races.

At that point, it doesn't matter whether mods are okay or not, whether they're fine or not. It's a fact, it's not opinion nor are people encouraging the use of mods. Because that's not seen as a good thing. It's an issue. An issue that Square keeps making worse and in turn encourage their own fanbase to seek out modding.

And before someone out there replies to me with a preachy moral answer, no. The idea that "Square doesn't make you use mods, you use them because you want to" is problematic. Because think carefully on that. Remove modding, you're basically telling people to remain in an inferior experience to other races. The issue isn't that modding exists, the issue is that modding should not be doing what it currently does. It should not do SE's work for them. So being upset that people bring up modding is placing your frustration on the wrong aspect.

It shouldn't be a thing, of course. But we're well past that, unfortunately. But there wouldn't be such an incentive if Square had addressed this sooner.

A revamp of wearing gear would be nice... so it is more than a skin... but remember FFXIV is an old game today... and when it was released... it should be considered even older as you don't work on brand new new engines for games like this.

Would be nice if clothing would fit to the skin and the likes and lose shirts moving in the wind and with movement.. but you need to account for the ressources needed for it as well and finally the gear people use in their PC/Consoles.

We already have skirts and such reacting to player movements. If you mean proper cloth physics where the material is treated as "cloth" by the game engine it can easily cause clipping issues, not to mention it would have to be made well in order to not be too loose or firm. Also with the current client it would tank the FPS even on beefier computers at populated zones. If such a thing would be implemented, it would require a huge rework on the client.

Is there any game that has such detailed physics AND the vast range of equippable outfits that FFXIV has? I would greatly doubt it, and would imagine that designing such a system would be prohibitively complicated for the scope of this game.
