I agree that's the likely reason why we don't get hats altered for Miqo'te ears – adding neatly edged earholes and such – but that still isn't a good reason why they've gone for "no ears at all" over "visible ears just apparently sticking through rough holes in the hat".

It makes sense for complicated hats if the ears will clip in funny ways, but for simpler close-fitting things like the baseball cap and the straw hat from the summer set a couple of years ago, it just feels like a massive oversight when similar hats already exist and let the ears show through.

It feels like a lack of imagination or something. Have the current modellers not been told it's an option? Have they decided on a blanket rule that if they can't do it for every hat then they won't do it on any hats even if it could work?
