FC has more at stake if they loose there house than a private house does. Like Subs,Airships, workshop, and fc player rooms. So there auto demo should be higher than private housing.

The FC has the added advantage of every single fc member being able to reset the timer by walking into the house though. You have to go into the house to get to the private rooms and to get to the workshop. If no one in the fc is entering the house for 45 days, the server should absolutely reclaim the plot.

I read a proposal on the Japanese side of the forum that demolition be selectively re-enabled for all datacenters except Europe. If technically possible this could be a very useful compromise.

If anything, the timer needs to be longer not shorter.. Especially when Yoshi REPEATEDLY says its OK for players to take breaks from the game and everything will be fine when they come back...
Remember this isn't something he said once years ago... It's something he states frequently!!!
But hey, at least while its suspended players can actually go take a break...

But at least it instills hope. Every auction there should be at least one small available, even if there 500 people vying for it.You clearly didn't even bother reading my post. The number of plots that would be freed up by turning demolition back on, would NOT come even remotely close to satisfying even a mere fraction of the demand for housing. What you are asking for is NOT going to solve this problem. Adding more housing, a LOT more housing, IS.
I kind of unironically agree with this, but ONLY on the condition there be a LOT more housing available than there currently is. Ideally supply wouldn't be an issue, auto-demo could be up to prevent people from still sitting on empty houses and using server space for nothing (non use, etc. If you've never used the housing plot you shouldn't have it is my feel.) but I kind of agree. If they boast that players should be able to take breaks, and be assured their hard work won't just disappear because they cannot pay a sub, aren't home, whatever, that'd be great. But to me it just seems like there is a current conflict of interest (People unable to play WITH houses vs the LARGE number who want houses, I don't know the exact numbers) that kind of keeps us between a rock and a hard place. If anything, the timer needs to be longer not shorter.. To me, Auto demo shouldn't be the way someone else gets a house*, it should be a tool to make sure servers are getting used and aren't sitting empty, never decorated, never used.
Something needs to be done. I have lost I know over 100 bids for a house. I know houses are not being used. some people don not even have an active sub. I think no active sub no house. Or maybe Square should just create more housing. I have had an active sub since I started played 4 years ago. Something needs to be done! when the new wow xpac comes out a bunch of people will most likely leave. which means more houses not being used.

Good news, SE is adding 6 new additional wards per district (total of 1,800 plots) in less than two months time to all existing worlds! Given that the highest number of bids on Balmung which is the most congested world barely exceeds 1,000 bids during the lottery cycle, there will definitely be sufficient plots for everyone even with auto-demolition disabled.Something needs to be done. They are just telling the truth. The slow trickle of auto demos wont cover the need. I am not angry at someones opinion esp when it is true, but that being said it would help some and some is better than none. You clearly didn't even bother reading my post. Wise men speak because the have something to say, fools because they have to say something. - Plato - He saw the ff forums apparently.

Goodmorning,
I came here to make a plea to turn auto demolition back on and am happy to see I am not the only one in suggesting this.
I applaud FFXIV for the amount of consideration they have for global circumstances affecting players but in the years I have been playing this game now, the demolition function has been more off then it was active. That is just not realistic nor fair in a MMORPG that has a lack of housing.
Currently players that aren’t paying for their subs and/or aren’t playing regularly get to hold on to their houses while active players that look for a house find none to buy week after week. The only plots opening up are from transfers or account deletions.
So yes, please turn it back on and keep it on.
Kind regards,
