Housing auto-demolition should be re-enabled immediately. The lottery system will become inoperative within a few cycles if it is not. Patch 6.11a disabled the afk logout, so by the developers' own measures the server queues are stable.

Auto-demo was left off far too long during the pandemic until it became very apparent that it was going to be a long-term issue that the world at large is still dealing with. The "current world situation" as the NA team put it, is showing no signs that it will be any different, tragic as that is.

Leaving auto-demo off for nebulous lengths of time destroys all the hard work that has been put into overhauling the housing system.

Edit: I read a proposal on the Japanese side of the forum that demolition be selectively re-enabled for all datacenters except Europe. If technically possible this could be a very useful compromise.

No it does not, we still have a crisis in Ukraine... it would be very selfish otherwise and upon that many because of the rising prices on everything has gone from being ok to having it quite a bit harder than before the Ukraine situation.

I agree. But I'm not sure you go far enough. As long as there is any inequity in the world the entire game should be put on hold. Its simply not fair that someone who may want to play who doesn't have a computer or money or time should be left out of the chance to compete for server/game wide firsts or titles or even fall behind in simply making gil.

Suspension of Auto-demolition started off as something that was done to address disasters - and they were placed regionally, not globally. On another thread, I actually listed/researched every time SE used auto-demolition. It was limited to:

• Weather events
• COVID19 Pandemic
• Endwalker release - due to login problems (I think?)

All of the weather events caused auto-demolition to be suspended for those data centers that served the affected area. So Hurricane Harvey in the US... NA DC suspended auto-demolition. Typhoon in Japan? JP DC suspended auto-demolition. COVID19 Pandemic, that was global - so all of them.

Russo-Ukraine War? Sorry, that should be EU only.

Never even heard of it. If it is what is sounds like, people on reddit volunteering to fight the war - I don't see what that has to do with this. There are plenty of servicemen and servicewomen deployed at all times. What does that have to do with a video game exactly?

Personally, I'd prefer they just remove it entirely and add enough wards to make everyone happy. SE set a precedent by disabling auto-demolition for events that affect that region. That's what they should stick to. I'm not losing any sleep over whether it is on or off.

Human lives is more important than this, sorry to say so, but it would leave a stain on SE, if you think it is only Ukraine that is hit by it, then you should take a look on the rest of the world as well is my suggestion, how many of us do not know someone, who is struggling with higher prices for a start?

So what? The game shouldn't be those peoples priority and the game shouldn't be handled based on what's going on in the world.
