That assumption is not a very strong one, it's just one that fits your narrative. It's even completely ignoring that tons of people can force CT through as of now legitimate ways. Overall I am for fixing the exploit because I dont want to be pushed into nier raids all the time but the idea that it will push the needle on how many CT runs happen is based on no observable evidence, unless SE suddenly gets a data sharing mood. What it is likely to improve is the queue times for higher level raids, although even that is not a certainty. (Assume everyone doing ilvl cheese simply stops doing AR roulette alltogether.)It will change a lot, actually. Assume 5 groups of 24 (who are level 80+) enter a roulette, and there are 5 ilvl cheesers. Multiple things can happen depending on RNG, anything from only 1 group of 24 getting all 5 of them forcing CT instead of the higher raids, to every one of the 5 groups getting one of them and being forced into CT. Now assume the cheese is taken care of. You have a true roulette. One of the groups may get CT, but otherwise there's a chance of Nier, Ivalice, or Void. So tell me, why are you people so against making it a true roulette instead of something you can game?
Because we still need consistent hard proof that this is a common occurrence with alliance roulette? If you can actually provide factual evidence that CT is brought up frequently solely because of ilv cheating then I have no issue bringing it attention to the dev team to fix the problen.
But so far Im just hearing assumptions and accusations from disgruntled people who hate CT so they try to justify its frequency behind some nefarious scheme and assumptions isnt good enough for me.
Nor should it be good enough for you or for anybody else.
They just need to cut the EXP given by Snooze Tower by 60% and it would solve a LOT of the problems. People want the EXP without putting in effort, well, make it worthwhile to put in the effort. I don't even care if there is a new comer in any of those tower raids, I instantly leave if I get it that's how sick I am of getting those.
It's the roulette xp that draws people to begin with. It doesn't matter what they do with the boss xp in each one. Even without that, you'll still have people going in for Wondrous Tails, story and roulette tomes. They just need to cut the EXP given by Snooze Tower by 60% and it would solve a LOT of the problems. You complain about people not putting in effort, yet you ironically put yourself in the same category when you refuse to play with others. You're actually worse than the cheesers because you get bent out of shape if the game of chance doesn't go your way. Do you gamble in casinos and complain to the manager because you lost money?
If you hate getting CT so much, find an alternative way to get the same rewards. Put in the effort you want others to put in.
I bet if SE were to pull the data, they would find that a significant number of players are being pulled into CT raids by people leaving from what can only be perceived as sour grapes and not the presence of an actual exploit. You are worse than the cheesers when you leave the duty and force someone else into that raid.

How is me leaving to take a 30min penalty, with my spot being backfilled almost instantly, being worse than people unequipping all their gear to FORCE said series? I decided to take that penalty and do something else for 30min rather than deal with something I don't care for. It's the roulette xp that draws people to begin with. Your question regarding casinos is so off the mark it doesn't even land in the same universe. But to answer your question, I go to casinos with a set amount of money I'm willing to LOSE, and nothing more. Just like quitting the CT raids - losing getting tomestones for 30min - I'm losing something I'm willing to lose. If I win(ie get a raid not CT), then sweet. If I lose(ie get CT), then okay, that wasn't something that was meant for that time.
For what you say about the EXP, they could always work it so that the roulette rewards higher EXP for the time investment. Thus, cutting the EXP it gives for CT due to how short of a time you spend in there, versus something like Puppet's Bunker or Aglia where you tend to spend 1.5-2x the amount of time in there.
It's hypocritical and being a sore loser. Some kind soul that has party in progress checked gets stuck with said duty because "the bad cheesers hurt me / oh no not CT again" "waaaaahhhh~~"How is me leaving to take a 30min penalty, with my spot being backfilled almost instantly, being worse than people unequipping all their gear to FORCE said series? Frankly, I think it falls under lethargic gameplay and you should get a ban for it. You demonize those that would take a shortcut for xp, but at least they still play the game. They're not even present all the time, so you look even worse for bailing on a duty.
Swallow what little pride you have and just get the roulette bonus out of the way. If you have the time to take penalties, you have the time to do other things for XP (tomes, whatever) and get more in the time spent.
My casino comment is absolutely on the mark because, do you know what they have in casinos? Roulette wheels. Do you know how those work? Exactly...

Anyone who gets the CT raids because I left are given the same opportunity as I had: run the raid or leave and potentially take the penalty as well.
If you read what I posted, I specifically stated tomestones, which if that is my motivation for doing the roulette, it is a 99.9999999999999999%(100% in my case) chance of not needing EXP. And who says my time spent locked out of DF isn't well spent? I have other things, both in game and out of game, that I can do in that time. So it's not time wasted to me.Swallow what little pride you have and just get the roulette bonus out of the way. As I don't play roulette when I go to the casino, I've never bothered to learn the ins and outs of it. If I did play it, I would certainly go about learning more than just the ball goes around the wheel and lands on a random number, which is colour coded, so that I could make a better educated guess as to how the payouts work, and where the best spot to place my bet would be(yes, I know you can place bets where the intersecting lines are, directly onto a number, or even directly onto a colour). My casino comment is absolutely on the mark because, do you know what they have in casinos? Not when the tomestones you are working on getting lots of are only given in 1 raid, which takes 40+ minutes to pop, and only gives a fraction of what you get from said roulette.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
