    PLD is satisfying to play by itself or in extremely casual content. However with the current 2 minute burst window meta. It is not satisfying to play in meta because if you get misaligned or start to drift in any way it is absolutely brutal and unforgiving.

    PLD defensives arent really needed in todays content either which hurts PLD with its own personal mitigation. Theoretically with PLDs current mitigation it should be the most damaging tank. So hopefully the rework will address that. Like making wings channel optional but last 10-15s after you activate the animation. Or divine veil also sheild and heal you.

    I can fully see Req being put on a 2 min cooldown and them buffing the holy combo like crazy. Can see them removing some dots because of button bloat. But ultimately as long as they fix the dps rotation and make it work with the 2 minute meta. I am fine with that.

    I'm not. 2 minute meta is boring and I'd rather them fix that than change PLD to force it into a boring playstyle.

    If they made PLDS magic 2 minutes I'd likely consider quitting PLD, sounds so bad to me. I like generally PLDS mixed Physical and magical playstyle that is frequent.
    Changes like this and not even looking at plds pretty bad in comparison utility/defensives would generally just make the job worse to play for anyone who liked the Job.

    I think they should drop the whole sheltron requires 50 oath and make sheltron just cost MP similar to TBN. Giving PLD 100 gauge at the start of battle is just an omission of "we f*cked up designing PLD"

    Just go full dps at this point with oath gauge. 50 oath now lets you use either magic combos i.e. confiteor combo, or single target big hits i.e. sanguine blade, judgement bolt, northswain's strike that give certain effects.

    Also drop atonement since it's just a redundant button that emulates a third rotation that no longer fits in the current game design. With the tank stance changes in ShB, tanks only need a maximum of two combos, one for dmg and one for utility or just do what DRK does and combine the two.

    I like Gauge being tied to defensives, I actually think they should expand Oath gauge and reward pld for good timing with gauge back, remove auto attacks filling it and making it a set timer (like how some healers fill up their gauge over time), this way a good PLD using their defensives well will be pretty strong defensively, I don't really feel like PLD needs a "dps gauge" I believe we should at least keep its identity in that aspect and actually expand how oath works, also don't feel like Mp really works with Holyshelltron/intervention, like TBN does with dark knight.

    Atonement Should stay, it allows PLDs to better adjust with their rotation as you can generally drop one if lets say you had to cast a holy spirit at ranged, it also just feels a lot better for me personally, I dislike how level 70 PLD feels compared to 80/90.

    I don't think we need to make PLD more similar to other tanks, most PLD players would be playing another tank if they didn't enjoy PLD so much despite its flaws... sure "low pld pick rate" is a meme at this point but theirs actually a lot of PLD mains despite it being the worst defensive and second worst offensive tank that's more complicated then the others, because PLD feels actually very fun for most people who like the job, I don't think WAR/DRK really appeals to most PLD players either, making it's rotation will likely cause more PLD players to just leave the Job and will only really bring in more players depending on if it's meta at the time. I think it's always good to appeal to more niche jobs playerbases instead of just copying another job.

    Most likely the Devs will remove anything tied to the gauge.

    Cover - completely reworked again.
    Shelton - on a 25s timer.
    Increase auto attacks potency.

    If FoF is removed just means another increase to potency on everything and possibly atonement removed as well since the Devs definitely want pld to focus primarily on magic now. In return increasing confet combo immensely. Which would feel nice I would assume.

    Who doesn’t like big numbers?

    Defensively? No idea what they would have planned.

    The more I play PLD, the more I like the job.
    The only reason I'm not playing it at the moment is because of its defensive cooldowns.

    I'm now hoping they go with more jobs like PLD. It's not exactly complex but more engaging compared to other jobs. This is exactly what I want in XIV jobs, engaging rotations.

    It's a very fun job that suffers a lot from downtime and the overpowered state of 2 mins burst.
