    I would like to have the S and A ranks scaled to the available item level of that patch.

    Like, the Hunt's are so much more fun at the beginning of the expansion because you actually have to pay attention and work together to kill them.

    Now it is just throwing a few tomahawks to guarantee full loot.

    I hate what hunting has become. These are supposed to be powerful world bosses yet they die within seconds. Mods have made things even worse. I managed to spawn an S-rank in Northern Thanalan and its location was announced in shout chat and hunting linkshells the second it appeared. I looked around and I was the only person standing next to this thing as it happened to spawn right in front of me after killing enough Earth Sprites.

    I think cross-world hunting is the single biggest contributor towards making the hunt system unpleasant; moreso when combined with third party programs that automatically detect/relay hunts.

    It's extremely uncommon to be able to spawn something and not have dozens of people bearing down on it within seconds nowdays.

    That’s an option too. Eliminating cross world hunting is not a bad call.

    I think there is the problem with the hunt: you killed a few earth sprites, it popped, then a deluge of players came almost immediately.

    Rather, it should be like a GW2 boss- multiple fate like things happening across the zone that, if all successful, lead to another thing which THEN spawns the big boss. It’s not unlike the world bosses we have except that they happen according to determined time/much more reliably.

    Really? I thought S ranks were meant to be done by lots of people working together.

    Even an alliance of people is not the same as a full on hunt train. S rank mob mechanics are at hardest on par with like an alliance raid boss. It’s not that they are mechanically hard, just a bunch of hit points and can be punishing for mistakes.

    To me the hardest part dealing with S Ranks is how overloaded the area is and causing some AoEs snapshots at very odd, inconsistent timings. The mechanic themselves aren’t hard.

    Not that it will happen. But I think it would be cool if you could force spawn a hunt mob, sort of like a map portal. Then your alliance goes into the portal and kills your own S rank.

    The moment an S rank spawns. Everyone in that zone gets the notification, not just you. So obviously this will grab attention quickly.

    And as these mob spawn positions are static as well, and globaly rendered (meaning someone that is flying high on the other side of the map can give a quite accurate position). Its very easy for dedicated hunters to spread out the location fast.

    The main reason why it is like that I'd because players will min-max the fun out of everything. Zerg-rushing an enemy is dumb. If anything SE should discourage trains.
