That's not going to stop them from releasing a limited-edition /eatmeatball emote at Fazoli's and some idiot on ebay spending $3000 for it. Promo codes will still exist for non-mogstation items.

This won't change. Bonus codes from SE's events, merchandise, OST and books etc can still be used and be registered in Mogstation. Meaning those who bought a soundtrack and does not want the code can still sell it (it will break TOS yes). I do hate those that sell the emote codes the same price as the statue itself. The only thing that was changed is "items purchased in mogstation" will go via "Buy for a friend" and not all items are applicable for this sadly.
