and now I'm hungry
Sorry I usually stay out of these circlejerks but you're really just gonna ignore the blatant misrepresentation of that earlier youtube comment you perpetrated huh? Gonna hit em with the "I brought it up to cause discussion, doesn't matter" probably?
Isn't it a bit goofy that he said that the community doesn't want FFXIV changes and New World's community does - and that he doesn't see that New World is actually going through a FF 1.0 all on its own? Of course they want people to engage with their game and give feedback. They want people to see that they care after such a colossal launch state. It is kind of a snare that Brian has seemingly fallen for - the lure of the nicest community alive. Only communities with nothing to lose will be willing to temper its toxicity just to get more players in the door. If your game is on top, the priority shifts to adding game features that lure in more players, not keep the ones in their home from leaving. As far as the OP. Brian gave his three reasons. One, he wants to do family. Second, he wants to follow his passion for standup comedy, and third he likes a new mmo New World better.
As far as FFxiv taking risks, ffxiv has been around a long time. New World is brand new. The cycle is always the same and you can only do so much in an mmo before it too changes for good or bad. Everyone outgrows an mmo at some point that's played it for over a decade. I look back on my experience with older mmos that I've outgrown. I will probably outgrow ffxiv sooner rather than later, but it's okay! Hakuna Matata and all that. *sings*
I think Brian is just needing his time to soul search and follow his dreams and ideas of what he wants for himself in life. He wasn't on the top of my "go to" list for info on FFxiv news besides, but I still wish him well. Why OP has to read more into it than there actually was, I hazard to guess. Right now I'm just on the sidelines to see what FFxiv has planned next for 7.0. I'll just have to wait and see.

Considering this was your reaction to a simple statement like "Raiders shouldnt be treated as special", I would say it say more about you than me.It's hard to take you seriously when you continuously bring WoW and the evil elitist boogeyman in each of your post even when it is completely irrelevant to the subject. You're the walking definition of insecure toxic casual. You want everything catered to you only and afraid that people who play the game for different reasons might take that away from you.
People who have negative opinions about this game are not limited to raiders or ex-WoW players. The most infamous complainer we have here doesn't engage in raiding as far as I know.
Personally very few of my complaints are raid-related. As a raider, I'm satisfied by the game and I wouldn't play it if I wasn't. My major complaints are mostly about how lacking the story content has been since Endwalker and how they handle cosmetic content (like Hrothgar and Viera).
Nowhere did I say that raiding should be removed yet you decided to believe that I am against raiding content in general and I only want one type of content, I like FF14 exactly because it doesnt treat raiders as special yet we frequently see threads about raiders complaining they dont get enough attention as if they deserve it lol, it is important to say that these people should be ignored just like the usual "waaah I shouldnt be forced to do X thing for Y reward and then implying that everything cool should come from raiding"
WoW's downfall came when they ignored the average player and started pandering to raidloggers at the expense of everyone else, resulting in their latest xpac that will just be raidlogging and nothing more xD
So of course I dont want SE to pay attention to elitist raider complaint threads about how they should get more content and rewards because that is how you ruin an MMOrpg.
So the tribalism will never stop in this regard
The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.
or maybe he liked ffxiv and now he likes new worldIsn't it a bit goofy that he said that the community doesn't want FFXIV changes and New World's community does - and that he doesn't see that New World is actually going through a FF 1.0 all on its own?
