It's worked for me. I love the consistency. I love being able to predict what I'm getting and when. We can roughly predict what patches will deliver what and when, even in 7.0.

I'd much rather they try new things and take risks, and continue actively engaging back and forth with the community in terms of what ideas are good, versus bad.
They mainly do that in live letters and Q&As so not a lot. They have tried (and then stopped doing) a lot of new things such as deep dungeons, Ultimates, Eureka/Bozja, Delubrum Reginae and its savage version, the firmament and now criterion dungeons. This is the content space where they try new things but they do it without interrupting the consistency of savage and pvp.

Maybe they add legitimate world bosses, similar to special fates, that require TONS of people to down and actually award relevant end-game gear when compared to savage.
We have those. They are known as S ranks. When they release, they kill people in one hit if they fail a mechanic and most people don't know the mechanics so they die. Although it's possible to kill them with a few people even at release, it takes 40 minutes or more of consistent mechanic execution and gets very exhausting, so they are designed for a lot of parties to be there. After the odd-number patch releases, you can exchange the rewards for the same end-game twines you get from savage. They become easier to kill and survive as our gear gets better, but I enjoy this content a lot and think it's exactly what you described. I wouldn't mind if they added more S ranks and fate bosses in patches, but it's something.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

there can never be any kind of massive regular open world zone boss the way the game is structured. at most approx 300 people can fit in a zone before it becomes congested. and even then due to graphics culling you only see the people closest to you. and then you have to turn down effects because everyone doing everything makes it undiscernable as to what the boss is even doing.

this is why there's separate instanced zones in Eureka and Bozja that only hold a limited amount of people.

I wasn't a regular viewer of his content but he definitely was one of the better FFXIV content creators (certainly far better than Zepla or Mr. Happy's boring drivel), so it's a shame to see him go. As for his take on this community's toxic positivity, he is correct on all counts and anyone who says otherwise either has their head in the sand or is part of said problem to begin with.

It's refreshing when I see the minority of people that actually consider others when saying things.

The developers have to juggle balls between all these different types of players while most of those players want all of those balls in their court.
Well its not really the hardcore player crowds fault if they aren't really satisfied with 4 raids every 8months, with maybe a few bonus extremes.
It's really down to the player if they're satisfied with the content or not, at the end of the day if people want to take a break or feel like theirs a "lack" of content in a certain filed they have the right to be upset/annoyed.

The Devs do got to juggle between each type of content, which is a good point but it doesn't subtract from the players wanting more content at the end of the day, I really dislike 24 man raids so every Odd patch date I got a lot less to look foward to each cycle and I tend to feel some real burn out near the end of 6.1, I think variant dungeons and criterion might help (I don't know if we're getting anything in 6.3, So I might take a break from playing daily again), but in the odd patches I do really not feel like theirs a lot to do still, other then the msq and having one new dungeon for expert rouls.

I personally do feel some content drought, I see why people "want more". Although I don't think it comes from laziness or them not wanting to, just lack of resources to make more raiding content.

Also Roleplaying? I don't think that's a "type" of content that's just what people do... Housing items or glamour might relate to that, I'm really unsure what you mean by roleplaying content.

Casual Content is good, I think it should always be a big focus as a majority of players like it.

There is times I have thought of quitting FFXIV myself. I feel like content has been lackluster for a while and the things people want changed just doesn't happen. If the rate the game has been going will this really last 10 more years? IDK I hope it does but also the game itself has been feeling stagnant.

Well, considering the "rate the game has been going" is "getting more popular with each subsequent expansion, with EW having the highest playerbase ever and the best overall ratings," I'd say they're moving in an excellent direction right now...

You see a lot of these posts. That said, I do agree with him on this one point specifically. I absolutely feel that XIV needs to take more risks and break free of the very rigid formula it's adhered to since it's inception, specifically in terms of what content is released, when, and how much. I'd much rather they try new things and take risks, and continue actively engaging back and forth with the community in terms of what ideas are good, versus bad. Maybe instead of just one raid instance, we get 3 totally separate ones, with totally separate themes. Maybe they add legitimate world bosses, similar to special fates, that require TONS of people to down and actually award relevant end-game gear when compared to savage. Frankly, I just want to see them experiment with the XIV content "mold" more. I think their odds of adding beneficial content to the game are far higher than adding something new and everyone hating it...because XIV has always been a game with a variety of different content, and players can pick & choose which they want to do anyway and not really worry so much about FOMO.
Then we'll be coming back to complain over the lack of content inconsistency and patch releases like WoW. Yeah no thanks. I heavily enjoy FFXIV's consistency and I feel that's a huge benefit that a lot of people are growing super jaded over not seeing how this is a good thing.
