To give some additional context, Garland Tools is a quick-stop reference for things such as quest unlocks, along with the scripts of each quest and is updated with each patch release. The entirety of the Omicron questline is available to read on there at the moment should one not wish to participate in the content itself. Given what has just been described in the OP, I can see that the cringeworthy introductory scenes that I had the misfortune of coming across on youtube only get worse as time goes on.

I don't know who this game is supposed to be for anymore, but it certainly isn't 20-30 year old fans of fantasy. More and more, we see stuff that is pulled from either a very childish sort of writing style or something akin to fanfic-level fawning over the game's prescribed favourite characters. With Yoshi supposedly treating FFXIV as more a playground than a job, I have to wonder just what is the matter with the tastes of someone who is supposed to be significantly older than myself. How do they find this sort of thing palatable at all?
