Isekai + Fantasia?

I mean, I like my character and think she’s great, but I’d rather adventure with her than as her. If I got isekai’d it’d most likely be as a Roe dude with the dad haircut. That’s about as close as I get to real life.

Not as macho as a highlander, not as skinny as a midlander…but Roe..could work.

Question, does Eorzea have toilets? If the answer is no then not even giving me the opportunity to be the most jacked highlander in existence or cute maid catgirl would make me want to step into that world.

I've actually always wondered about this idea too. What if we all woke up and were in the game with no ability to leave like in Log Horizon? Would the NPCs gain sentience? If they did, I'd feel a little bit better about the laws being maintained.

I'm terrified at the prospect that I could get pregnant with such a tiny body in a world where laws wouldn't really matter anymore.

Log Horizon's the specific situation I was thinking of when starting this thread. All NPCs would be sentient, have their own nations, politics, laws, and everything. Eorzea as it is now would become real with all of the in-game background stuff becoming real with it. If you own a house now you'd still own it within a nation's jurisdiction and all laws of that nation would apply to your neighborhood too. There's no need to fear having a child in utter lawlessness. Contrary to previous posters, I can't see Revenant's Toll and Idyllshire being lawless for long. As long as enough people take residency there, I have no doubt an organizing group like the Round Table would form and enforce order. It wouldn't turn into a Suskino and Brigandia situation.

Absolutely! I see no reason why indoor plumbing wouldn't be a thing given that showers and sinks are in-game housing items and would require it to work.

Do you really want to live for two hundred years and see many of your friends and loved ones die before you're even halfway through your normal lifespan? You'll end up living two or three full human lives before it's your time to go.

That's why I'm glad Elezen only have a slightly longer than average human lifespan.


My wife just started playing the game and made a hottie Thighlander. I want to get zapped into the game even more now!

You do make a nice point. I suppose it would depends of my situation when coming to this other world.

If i'm coming with other players i know, then i would stay a lalafell. Like you said, i'd rather have the same experience as people i would tag along with.

If i'm coming alone, then i would use a Fantasia and be a male viera. With no attachment to anyone, i would explore all of Etheirys and beyond if possible.
I would do if for a lifetime if it's what it takes to see most things that world has to offer.

Once i've done that, i would settle down in the place i liked the most and live a peaceful life as a crafter.

I guess it would feel pretty sad to have my chocobos dies of old age before me multiple times.

Tough one but I'd prob be a male Viera (I tend to fantasia a lot !) I would just poke holes through my gear !
But that would be a lovely Isekai to explore.

In Log Horizon, characters are able to make food using the standard in-game menu, but everything tastes like rice crackers and water. Only people with the chef sub-class at a high enough level using ingredients and making things the old-fashioned way are able to craft food that actually tastes like food. On top of that, players are able to make things that don't exist in the game world if they have the proper class and Earth-knowledge; being an engineer IRL, an armorer in-game, and making a steam engine, for example. I'd envision XIV crafting to be something similar; a players skill in various DoH jobs would give them the knowledge to make standard items, but we'd have to do things by hand step-by-step to make them useful. I see Quick Synthesis being a game mechanic made available to save players time crafting large amounts of things, but not something that would actually exist in the "real" world of Eorzea.

I will stick to my character. Every time I can create a character in a game I try to put myself as much as I can, in this case I put my actual height. Sadly FFXIV doesn't have a better customization, but I really like the face type that I choose.
