What about tokens you can exchange for upgrade materials? Those things are difficult enough to farm in significant quantities (as your average static might need at least 30 of them overall, and giving Savage players another way to earn those items might speed up the acquiring of BiS gear, or make Savage reclears easier.

Can you show proof of this because I don’t believe I seen or heard that anywhere. That savage criterion will be much harder than savage raids. That kinda makes no sense to be honest. Savage tier is 610. I can see it being 620-630 if the rewards are massive but just because it’s harder? Nah I just don’t see it.

He said it in an earlier live letter. Have at it if you wanna find it, I'm not gonna dig through several hours to get you a link.

The DF window shown during the live letter did not list an iLvl requirement for the savage version, only for the normal version. You might've gotten confused with iLvl sync number, which is i635 for both Criterion modes.

It's really not that clear just how difficult Criterion Normal/Criterion Savage actually are.

Official translation of Live Letter LXXI had Yoshi-P state that Normal difficulty is similar to Extreme, while Savage difficulty is similar to Savage raid difficulty.

Official translation of Live Letter LXXII doesn't mention anything about difficulty.
Unofficial translation has Yoshi-P commenting on how Normal mode bosses will "feel like Savage floor 1.5, floor 3 and floor 4", which sounds quite a bit different from being similar to Extreme. He also commented on how Savage is aimed at the players who are going to clear Abyssos early on, "so they can challenge it with their good gear"

Meanwhile the stream showed a requirement of i610 to even queue up for Normal, which is the same requirement as P7S/P8S. No requirement for Savage, although both modes have their iLvl sync set to 635.

Savage largely is midcore nowadays. Savage hasn't been considered hardcore since Midas. You could make an argument on the last floor but the rest? They're all designed with a midcore mindset. Ultimate is the hardcore content.

This makes way more sense than what Ransu was going on about. Thank you for clarifying.

Criterion dungeons as an alternative to raiding would be a welcome addition. However, I see the current issues with savage being primarily tied to a randomized loot system that takes progression out of a player's control. I think whatever raid equivalent loot is added to criterion dungeons shouldn't be viewed as a solution to loot distribution issues that currently exist in savage. Instead, SE should change the system causing the problem in the first place instead of replicating it. Perhaps criterion dungeons could be a way of introducing that loot system.

I very much agree with this. It does not even have to be a full set. I dont do savage raids mostly cause i dont have the time or really the desire to commit to a static. but a 4 man team? sure! its what had me really excited for savage. but now i am hearing that it wont give squat in regards to gear. So i guess ill just clear it once for whatever cosmetic rewards it has and then never do it again? Wish it was not like this.

Hard level content for smaller teams is something i can do, relevant rewards would be nice to go along side it.
