Criterion Dungeons(Savage) Should Reward Savage Gear

Well, we'll find out soon enough as the Live Letter is around the corner. To reiterate, the hardest part of Savage is getting 8 adults, with real-life obligations, to keep a game schedule; a 4-player alternative would be much more manageable and very much appreciated. Do I love 8-man Savage raids? of course I do, but I no longer have the luxury of sitting in PF, waiting on a sub for an hour. So, with that, here is hoping Yoshi.P pulls a rabbit out of a hat.

From what I've read Criterion dungeons will be "a way for raiders to use their savage gear" which implies you need to do savage to have a chance at doing the Criterions? If that's the case, then there's probably no point in having that kind of gear reward tied to it since anyone who do Criterions are decked out in Savage gear already.
I may have misunderstood though.

With that said, then why do savage at all? It isn't like you clear P5S with savage gear. You can't earn it yet.

As a side note, if Criterion dungeons require higher iLvl than savage... then it stands to reason that it would be harder than savage.

Just because it’s savage difficulty doesn’t mean you need to have full set of savage gear to defeat it. You don’t even need that to beat savage tier. So it will be silly of the devs to make the item level savage gear set tier. I gather normal mode will be expert dungeon item level, extreme will be item level 600 like the Barby extreme fight and savage will be 610 item level like the savage fights. That’s my take on it.

Yes if you have savage 630 item level gear I’m sure you will be able to use it. Unless they lock it to a max like 615 or something.

The problem is - if you make it basically "more accessible savage" then your basically going to break savage. We seen this story play out with WoW mythic+ dungeons. It essentially made the easier to access alternative a requirement to participate in the later; and ultimately - made it kind of pointless.

You want to punish me because some may lack self-control or may decide on a new meta? I don't understand the argument. I really want you to think about that and try to see it from my perspective if that's even possible these days.
It sounds like saying we have to remove Normal raid drops because it competes with crafted gear as they are always the same ilvl. Yes, one takes longer to get, so maybe we could use a model similar to that?
Between scheduling and the way the social landscape is today, smaller groups are the future of MMOs imo.

It would have been nice if they told us some info about the rewards in this last liveletter. The only thing we know is that it drops a mount.

I sure hope they don't require doing savage raids. I'd love to try hard 4-man content with a few friends without having to pug the 8-man savages.

Normal mode probably wont which they have lead us to believe will be around EX difficulty. They have straight up said savage tier will be more difficult than the savage raids and is designed for raiders who have their savage gear so its safe to say you'll need most of your 630 gear to do criterion savage.
