How do you think the new DC community is going to be like?

Imo, the incentives are just not good enough at this point. Anyone who participated in the earliest versions of new datacenter move rewards can't qualify for again for extra aub time, leaving only gil as a reward and that in itself is pocket change. There's the feathers but unless you're willing to lock yourself down for 90 days for a mount or emote, which btw most of the veteran populace already acquired, is not an attractive incentive.

Really? I am actually expecting a lot of people to move for the housing alone, and the housing lotto to have multiple bids even in the small plots. I think the wards might fill up fairly quickly

People did that when OCE came out and the place is still dead in comparison to the other DCs. I remember moving there for housing, getting one without any challenge and then leaving anyway because it was boring.

There will definitely be a wave but anyone who has obligations to stay on their original DC still will (friends, FC, roleplay related jobs, etc.). It will most likely just be a bunch of alts as well rather than anyone's main till the state of the DC is known and whether or not it's viable.

Come on now, you and I both know it was dead everywhere except Sophia and maybe Ravana for a few months. Ya'll didnt eben have an RP scene till housing was released 1-2 months after the fact and the PF was constantly empty whenever I checked. I doubt it's still the same situation but it was pretty bad at first. Oh and the hate towards NA players was great when we were trying to come over and help you pop the place. It was hit or miss going into a duty whether or not someone would crack an insult.

I am on Ravana right now at 1am and the place is packed. Same with Sephirot. Sophia is a tad quieter but its Fri at am on a work week. Same with Bismarck and Zurvan.

I think we both know why that happened...and whose fault that was.

1. No, I no life the game. I'm online usually around 12-14 hours a day. Sometimes longer if I feel like sleep depriving myself that day.

2. It is still low pop in comparison to the other DCs. Not sure why you think otherwise. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just the reality.

3. Yes, we're like 3/4 of the way through the year. I'm referring to the very beginning. What it looks like now is obviously going to be different compared to the first couple months which is what I was even discussing.

I can't speak on current population as I'm not there but I can absolutely speak on the early days as I was there for a lot of it. I had characters on both Ravana and Zurvan (still do probably since i havent transferred them all back yet). If its now on the same level as Crystal or Aether or insert DC name here, that's wonderful and I'm really happy for you. I hope the DC goes well.

4. Nah, no one was provoking anyone. The most memorable one off the top of my head was someone not keeping the dragon centered in Laby and got them called a "stupid American doing a stupid NA strat."

Does Primal have an identity? I've always felt like it just kind of exists while Aether is the tryhard DC and Crystal has the RP, more social and casual crowd. I haven't been on Primal since HW admittedly.

Primal is a middle ground between RP and raiding imo. You can get content done and enjoy some decent RP afterwards. Hyperion is home to the Lucky 7s which is probably its biggest venue in the entire DC, whenever I've gone it was packed to the brim. Was there for about a year total and is probably my 2nd favorite DC to live in (Aether being first).

I mean, you're gonna run into bad parties regardless of what DC you're on but I didn't really ever run into situations where content couldn't be cleared eventually on Primal. Like in terms of savage I got through P1S-some of P3S there without much pain. People tend to meme Crystal more than Primal now cause of how RP > content there. I think there's been a slight shift in people trying to get more content done but its still very much RP priority.
