Serious question, but what's to stop people from making alts prior to the new servers, moving them to the servers for any bonus gil and then sending that gil to their other accounts? As they will be new servers, you will get a refund for your apartment. Empty it (and the store room) and leave it there, do not hand it back. As long as it's there when you transfer off you will get 500,000 for the apartment, and another 500,000 bonus gil.
(this by the way is an easy free 500,000 for anyone moving, if you don't have the apartment already, buy one, leave it empty, and transfer)
500k isn't worth the grind to lv 50+second lieutenant which is required to be able to buy an apartment
Nothing, but there are more efficient ways of making gil. You need to be level 50 and ranked to second lieutenant in GC to buy an apartment.
It's a handy little move bonus though for people who have those on their main, but no apartment.
Edit: and the other bonus of course is a *one time* 1,000,000g bonus for hitting level 30 on a new character on a new server, and *one time* 15 days free play time for the same. - if you used those up on Materia or the new EU servers (or in the dim dark past) you don't get those again.

The other bonus is actually what I was thinking of. Glad to see they thought that through though.Nothing, but there are more efficient ways of making gil. You need to be level 50 and ranked to second lieutenant in GC to buy an apartment.

My cousin's FC had already decided to move before the date was announced. They want better access to housing and like the idea of being part of a totally new data center. I've got an alt in their FC that will be going with them plus I'm going to transfer two of my other characters to help get the hunt community started.
The gil bonus is once per data center per account. I think that's SE's way of making sure some gil gets flowing in new data centers.Nothing, but there are more efficient ways of making gil. You need to be level 50 and ranked to second lieutenant in GC to buy an apartment.

With Dynamis being new, players would still get the 1 million gil even if they had created new characters on new worlds in other data centers like Materia. NA players would find it easy to get it back to their mains with data center travel. Those in other regions would have to decide if the million is worth paying $18 dollars.
The 15 days of game time is truly once per account though.
