i think they should just add a few jobquests now and then.for exemple: a paladin quest in 6.4, a schoolar and a reaper quest in 6.5. a small quest line for white mage and dancer in 7.0.

would some player hate it because there would be no quests for some jobs? sure... there are always hater.
but for the game as a whole that would be pretty nice. they could do some great things like that

What even is this take lol...

Anyways, I rather not have new job quest after the ShB because almost all of it is finished. THE END. No more continuation.

How would you continue the story like SCH and SMN? Hell even SMN's quest already derailed to

The Reaper comes to mind. Without spoiling anything (just in case anyone isn't caught up on the MSQ), it is definitely HIGHLY relevant, and I wish there were a bit of story beyond where the actual RPR jobs end currently. Or finding out how our boy Sidurgu is doing, or yeah, moving beyond "Curious Gorge losing control". Like maybe getting some pointers from the Xaela tribes (many of who seem capable Warriors), or things like that.

Even if they're mostly just short-stories and kind of "checking in" on old characters. I still miss the characters from the Pugilists' Guild, stuff like that. I don't even need some mandatory, high-value reward. Heck, even something like Job-exclusive Earrings or Jewelry for Glamour might be nice.
ooh yes. Just do it like SHB in a checking on your teachers and fellow students style.

And a few of them were getting pretty weak. Warrior kept falling back on the "Curious Gorge loses control again" crutch, white mage's Stormblood story was really a conjurer quest, and paladin.....ugh, paladins haven't really had their own story since Heavensward, and that one was pretty bad (even the quest dialogue calls Solkzagyl's scheme out as pointlessly contrived!).

So, I dunno. If they can make them actual good stories again, great, but if it's just there for the sake of being there, I'll pass.
Ngl, WHM and PLD questlines are exactly why I'm ok with role quests* instead. Sure, someone will always get the short end of the stick, but at least most jobs had an overarching story going on while those 2 specially were a crystal clear case of "so....what do we do now...?" and I'd rather not drag them further than what they already have.

*the ShB ones were good and thematically fitting, but the EW ones were 5 side story questlines with a random role slapped on top.

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

I do miss having job-specific questlines, and converting over to a few watered-down "Role" quests feels like a pale and disappointing imitation of the former tradition, but at the same time I absolutely understand why they had to go this route. When you have a game where you want more jobs to come with each expansion, it's more and more work compounding every time, and eventually something's gotta give. I'm still in Shadowbringers content right now, so I don't know if this continues in Endwalker, but what they did with at least giving you one final little mini-story "check-in" with your old Job Quest pals felt really nice. I'm satisfied with that compromise.

I mean, I think every new Job added to the game has had a story questline associated with it, hasn't it? They can continue to make new Job quests for original Jobs when they get released, it's just that to do one for every single Job every expansion is an enormous amount of work.

Just for some cool/funny interaction Job teachers could have with each other.
That is a really unexpected but very interesting idea! I think a big question for that kind of system would be: how do you make this feel natural to the players, and not arbitrary and confusing to remember which Jobs go with which questline? There would have to be some major thematic or story element that linked each Job group, so that it made sense why these Jobs go together despite being in different roles.

One simple idea, is you could group together the Jobs whose starting class begins in the same city-state. They tend to have connections to the general lore and goings-on of the area, so maybe there's something we could use there. Some Jobs would gel with this concept better than others, but perhaps there could be other possible combos to be found. Maybe White Mages with their elementals, Monks with their chakra, Summoners with their egis, and Dark Knights with their spooky abyss, are able to discover some cosmic secret of the universe that reveals a weirdly common ground between the sources of their respective powers..?

I was a bit disappointed that Reaper and Sage didn't get a post-MSQ level 90 wrap-up/check-in quest, similar to what the jobs got post-MSQ in Shadowbringers.

I can understand not doing that for every job again, but the two new jobs do feel a bit lacking story wise, even in comparison to Gunbreaker and Dancer.

Really wish they did more with the job quests. Even SHB was hit or miss for me (SAM just being a retelling of the 50-60 storyline).

Make it a non-forced questline that you can do at any point during or after MSQ.

Some ideas I have for story plots.
WAR: Gorge recalls an old tradition of teacher and pupil travelling Abalathia's Spine together. Since he considers you a master Warrior, he suggests you bring Dorgono along. You and Dorgono set out together for the adventure ahead.
DRG: You're invited to Ishgard where you meet the other Dragoons. With the war ended they are transitioning from dragon hunters to working together with dragons as Dragon Riders. Some feral lesser dragons are attacking nearby settlements so you set out to stop them together with the other Dragoons.
BLM: Lalai has been approached by a group of researchers. They plan an expedition to Mhach, but would like to have a real BLM along with them. Lalai volunteers you and the group sets off. In Mhach the researchers find a sealed door that needs the power of a BLm to open, inside is a voidsent and several people frozen in time. Using the echo you experience the past as one of the people and learn how this voidsent came to the Source. Tampering with the seals seems to unfreeze the voidsent and you end up having to fight it, the souls of the past BLMs that were previous frozen join you and lend you their magic.
NIN: The village elders have learned that Oboro has been training you and summon you both to the village. Testing your skills, the elders decide to have you try to complete the Chuunin trial.
    WHM: Touch moist soil.
BRD: Traveling the First, you learn new songs that you bring back to Jehantel for inspiration.

Some orders such as RDMs and MNKs have their home liberated and you could take the teacher role. Others such as RPR seems to just be starting it's story.

Im totally fine with the role quests, if anything some of the older job quests could do for some updates, newer job quests like sage and reaper do really to teach it the basics of the job.
