When this game was first announced, it excited me because I was sure, logically, that SE could put their experience from creating FFXI to good use in this game. They could take the good and leave the bad. Sadly, that ended up not even remotely happening. It seemed they instead ignored anything they might have learned and started from scratch.

Luckily that's changing now. Taking experience and good pieces from a previous game and implementing them, or modified versions of them, in a new game, does not make that game a copy of the first. Using elements and experience from XI in XIV does not make it XI-2. People need to get off that train of thought. It's dumb.
To me it almost seemed like SE's mindset when they were designing XIV was to take everything good from XI and tack it on a board of things they will NOT do in this game. LOL But then again, like I said, what people like is different and what I think was good about XI others might think was absolute shit.
