I really like the overall aesthetic of the Sylvari, although the only one I have is stuck as an elementalist and I have absolutely NO idea how to play that job. She's so old though, don't want to delete the character and miss out on those higher birthday rewards. Aside from that, I mostly have a collection of Asura They're kinda cute, in that gremlin sorta way. The makeover kit definitely helps.

    Adorableness!... lol.

But yeah, GW2 has always been a good fallback for me. I'm not great at the game by any means, but I mainly just stick with the story and open world things...so it doesn't really matter toooo much. I feel like I've never played it steadily enough to where I can really learn all the ins and outs of the combat. My poor little brain retains NOTHING. Shoot, even XIV can be a struggle when I've ignored a job for a couple of months. ><

Have you played through all the expansions already? I reaaaaallly liked PoF, wish I could go back and reexperience all of that for the first time again. I loved the zones, the feel, and all the mounts to collect. Good times

And yesss! Back to angrybun! I need to slow down on those fantasias though, so hopefully I don't get anymore late-night fantasia urges for awhile. . ><

I just never play small races in any game, and I don't typically like to play humans either. I like playing elves, or anything like them. So sylvari. And I always liked their unique aesthetic anyway.

My current mesmer with a default outfit:

I am kind of in a similar position in that game, due to having two human characters that I don't even know why I made, but they are also very.. old characters, so they will be getting birthday rewards. I'll probably just keep them and spend some makeover kits on them, I guess.

GW2 is alright, I'd probably like it more now than I did in the past, as I have become more casual over the years. Like I said, I just picked it up again, downloaded a few weeks ago, because I saw it release on Steam. I had been looking for like the past month for something else to play while slowing down again on FFXIV, but I don't want to be paying two subs, I wanted something with some sort of progression, and something I could play very casually. So GW2.

I never played it steadily to begin with! I checked my playtime across my account (/age) and I don't even have 200 hours! The last time I played it was three years ago, because a friend was looking for a game to play with me, since they didn't like FFXIV. I made this mesmer then, bought my makeover kit, and a different outfit back then. They played for like.. 20 minutes before telling me they didn't like it either.

No, I have never played an expansion. The last time I put time into that game was well before the first expansion came out, so I didn't even have any experience with the mounts! I did buy the End of Dragons Collector's deluxe ($75) about 10 minutes ago, so eventually I'll be able to play it. They did give me boosts, so I could theoretically jump straight into an expansion, but I don't use boosts on characters I actually intend on playing in any game. I am effectively playing the game from scratch again with a new character.

Why am I writing an essay? Like I've said, I'm a spammer to my friends on Discord.

I haven't bought a fantasia since I switched back to viera. That was the best fantasia I spent, and this has probably been the longest I have played this game semi-actively, and not used a fantasia. The longest I've gone in the past (while still actually logging in and playing) without a fantasia was like.. 3 weeks? Definitely glad to see your viera though, she is one of the more recognizable faces on here!

I'm excited for you! lol. I really hope you can find some enjoyment in the game. You'll definitely have plenty to keep yourself busy with just working through the story alone (if that's your thing), or maybe even just exploring and checking out all the new areas. One little suggestion, but you may want to do the first quest (I think it's the first one) in Path of Fire in order to unlock your first mount. After you get that, you can switch back to whatever story you want to focus on, but the mount will remain. Exploring by foot can be nice, but it's also nice knowing you can speed things up a wee bit.....if you so choose.

The mounts though...I love how they've gone about them in the game. Don't want to spoil anything, but they each come with their own unique abilities that you can use in different ways to get around the world. And they have actual physics! They take a few steps to get going/stop, actually lean into turns, you look over your shoulder when you're walking backwards, all sorts of little details that just make em fit so well. It's definitely my favorite mount system in all the games I've played.

Soo, this would totally be like the blind leading the blind, but if you ever want a body to tag along with (and probably make you feel amazing about your own skill..), my contact there is arooboo.5143. But no pressure!

Sadly I only play it to raid on Mondays and Saturdays nowadays, but that's because I had a real bad guild breakup 6 years back where the guildmaster destroyed the guild while over half of us were on vacation...because of a bad night in WvW. It's hard to get back into the game for me after that.
That's really a shame about the guild fallout. :/ People can really suck at times, and it's amazing how crazy people can get over a video game. Like, I get it, emotions can run high..,but....c'mon! But on a happier not, good choice with the charr! Non-human characters are definitely the way to go.

With me, I have to be in a very specific mood to do things in any game, but I have found it actually relaxing so far, doing the story and map completion (Not "relaxing" like IS where there is nothing to do). They gave me a free mount when I reached a certain level, prior to buying any expansion as a test run (10 hours of game time raptor), they took it away. It's kind of why I fell for it, and just bought all the expansions, because I couldn't go back without my mount.

I already know vaguely about most of the mounts in the game and the purposes they serve. As long as there are things to collect and complete. Just having things to collect and complete is largely why I played Warframe, and then promptly stopped playing as soon as I got most things I wanted.

I did add you while making this post, well, I think I did. I just put that info in search (I'm not sure if it was automatic). Also, I am on Henge of Denravi server. I don't know how any of it works. If we did play, just know I take my time, and most people hate playing anything co-op with me, let alone anything with cutscenes or dialogue, as I literally read it all!

What made it hurt worse was that we had been together as a guild since launch year. So that was years with the guild thrown out. I actually stopped playing for 2 years after that incident.
