No, Islander Mentality. I literally grew up on an island. I would walk everywhere.Haha. I wouldn't call it "Islanders Mentality". I'd call it your personal preference.
I used to drive 45 minutes one way for Thai food. I did that quite often for 5 years. I live within 5 minutes of the place (have for quite some time) and I haven't gone there in two years.
SturmChurro, that makes complete sense. The worst is when your on the fence about something, you leave, come back, and its gone. (Sorry. I am on phone and I don't know how to quote multiples in the same post)

That guy I mentioned stayed for 6 hours. My store isn't particularly large. It's quite small. I can shoot a rubber band from one side of the store to the other.I kind of do that while shopping, without the questions though. I am one of those people who will be there for... quite awhile.. just looking at everything, or something in particular. Not able to make up my mind on what or if I want to buy. I have had workers come up to me asking if I needed help multiple times.
I'm the same. I practically have a map in my head so I can get in and out ASAP.
I will venture out about 20 minutes for something cause that's about as far I have to drive for owrk...unless I'm at the other stores...then it's about 45 minutes.
This reminds me of a funny story...Haha. I wouldn't call it "Islanders Mentality". I'd call it your personal preference.

About...15 years ago (OMG it's been roughly 15 years... ) I met a new friend through Craigslist ( back when that was the popular thing ) and she invited me to hang out with her friends for New Years. Well a week after that event I had a knock on my door and her and a couple of her friends were there to tell me they were kidnapping me for the day. Of course young 25ish me was thinking "3 girls want to kidnap me? Sure why not?" and I hop into the car. I ask where we are going and they told me "Kidnappers don't tell the kidnapped where they are going". Ok...I'll ride this out. So we drive what feels like...an hour and a half and we stop at this small town. They ask me to wait in the car as they go in real quick. About 5 minutes later they come back with two bags. You know what we drove out for? Tortillas. That's it. They said it was the best tortillas you could ever had. I tried one...meh. I've had some at a grocery store that were much better. Tomato-basil Tortilla shells FTW!
Damn it now I wanna make burritos.

Omg hahaha! All that for "meh" burritos. Did you at least make some friends out of the deal? Burritos are a massive hit or miss. I would say 50% is based on the shell and the other 50% is based on fillings and technique. No one wants a burrito where the shell is day old or one bite is nothing but sour cream.
I've been kidnapped once, but it was by my ex at the time and it was Thanksgiving. It was 9 years ago.
embrace the beef chow mein

They didn't make burritos. They just ate the shell. One bag of it was gone by the time we got home. The trip itself was fun though. I just hope your kidnapping was as fun as mine and not of the "No seriously I was kidnapped" variety.Omg hahaha! All that for "meh" burritos. Did you at least make some friends out of the deal? Oh cool, another Rhode Islander.
I tend to stay close to home too, although mostly out of laziness. I'm willing to drive farther when I have a good reason (on Sunday I'm gonna be making a two hour drive out to MA for a raffle at a Gundam store; shows you my priorities, eh?), but I just don't really like driving. Or, more accurately, I don't like other drivers.

Woohoo! (Its been ages since I've been to Massachusetts; when I lived on the island though; we would drive over the Mt Hope for shopping; that bridge toll on the Pell was expensive in the 90s.)Oh cool, another Rhode Islander.

And definitely RI drivers; ugh
Im exactly the same, always felt bad about it especially when the workers come to me and I have to explain I just have decision issues xDI kind of do that while shopping, without the questions though. PSA: Wizards of the Coast is planning to deauthorize Dungeons and Dragons' Open Game License in favor of a much more restrictive one that is all but overtly predatory. It will allow them to collect royalties on third party content, shut down any third party product they disapprove of, and use third party content without compensating or accrediting third party content creators (including noncommercial works).
All of which will effectively destroy what allowed the game to become as popular as it has.

Still. Wouldn't be the first time Wizards would Forsaken their IP for something stupid, wouldn't it?
