No matter how straightforward or polite one tries to frame their message as, it seems there are always individuals who are unwilling to entertain new ideas unless they come from Yoship himself. Nevertheless, I think it is in the best interest of the game for its areas of improvements to be openly discussed.

There's nothing polite about your approach, especially when you accuse people of having this devotion to Yoshi-P. Meanwhile, you refuse to acknowledge any possibility you didn't come up with yourself. It's funny how you know what's best for the game, yet it appears to be doing well not following that path.

A 680+ page megathread criticizing the story and not a single patch since EW going down smoothly is doing well? With the WoW refugee boost gone this game isn't exactly set to retain even its current playerbase unless they start producing better, longer lasting content and a better story arc moving forward. I'm willing to wait and see what they do with the MSQ, but I am extremely concerned given the quality of EW's writing and the disaster that was 6.1.

If "doing well" means betraying the players who joined in during the Heavensward and Shadowbringers era who expected a well crafted story worth getting invested in so that they could pander to those who consider the likes of Island Sanctuary, Tweetingway, and the many slice of life/humor moments in the MSQ to be well done, then I suppose the game will continue to self select for those sort of players while those like me move on.

Truth be told it all depends on how you look at it. Some make valid points, some do not. Some use logic and link creditable information some using feeling and what they see.

New data centers for a 10+ year old MMO is not something I've heard of. It usually goes in the other direction over that stretch of time.

Patches not going smoothly comes with the territory of an MMO. Some things are beyond our control and it's much more peaceful when you just accept it.

You continue to claim to speak for this overwhelming majority, yet you have no real impact on the game's direction. 680 pages of tears is nothing in the scope of the internet. I doubt even half of those posts are from unique individuals.

A lot of people are opposed to obvious marketing gimmicks, yes. Nor does not liking such gimmicks equal lacking in 'joy'.

I don't know what a "tweetingway" is, but I think a big problem in the story itself is that they rely way too much on the lighthearted comedy, and fanservice nowadays. They are known for writing decent stories, with a serious tone, and a lot of that kind of gets in the way when there is so much of it now, in my opinion.
