Question oh wise Islanders, how do I know when crops are done? Does an arrow show in gather mode? or is it something else?
Also, how do I get more than 3 tools? is it level related?

They'll turn all shiny and then you can use the Gather mode to collect 'em. Same with the animals....took me awhile to figure out that I needed to gather from them once they started sparkling. lol ><
Bit of a minor thing, but it'd be nice if the orchestrion didn't reset when you leave/log out, or at least let you save a playlist like normal. It also still says "play in Estate" when selecting a song which probably wasn't intended.
it'll sparkle like the gathering spots do out in the wild and can be harvested in gathering mode. Also, be sure you are checking on your animals at least once a day because they produce materials once per day at reset (1am PDT)
And yes, tool unlocks are related to your island sanctuary level.
And that's totally fine. You aren't the one complaining about things not progressing fast enough in content that was designed to take weeks or months to finish 100%.Funnily enough, it being timegated like this, as it sounds, won't matter to a player like me. Long term super casual is fine by me. I can barely be asked to log in to games to get the daily reward, and I spend most of my day afking if I am playing this game. I might grind it a bit for the hairstyle, and if I like anything else though.

i'd also like it if the music didn't stop when you leave the hideaway and switch back to the island music. what's the point of having it if you have to sit at your base to hear it?
if they combined that with the music playlist, it'd be a massive QoL improvement.
I bought the shorts on a male alt because it's about time guys get cute shorts LOL. Little did I know I was gonna stunt myself from being able to get a third workshop, pasture expansion, or windmill lolYeah, the game becomes unbelievably stingy with rewarding you with cowries, thus making the whole '' let me go absolutely ballistic with my grind so I can level up the sanctuary with just gathering '' feel inane because leveling up the sanctuary at a certain point just means more timegated junk you need to do and more cowries you need to have to expand. So why bother grinding when I'm not rewarded with anything? Oh, I can go gather new materials and can craft 1-2 more items, cool, neat, whatever.
Three-four full instances of doing Diadem will at least give you max skybuilder's scrips so you can buy a mount reward.
Two weeks of doing the ShB-EW daily/weekly hunts every day will net you enough kupo nuts to get the big mount reward, plus it's an excellent addition to leveling levels 70 to 90. And you get some gil as well.
Island Sanctuary on the other hand, it just feels like I'm loosing time, materials and cowries that I could've just used to buy the cute shorts and get out lol.
What Island Sanctuary needs is a daily/weekly quest system that rewards you cowries, experience and/or materials. That would be a good first step.

has anybody figured out the best way to maintain joy in the animals?
Do I need to feed them with tier 2 and tier 3 food CONSTANTLY, or just once per day?
20 animals, 40 crops per day?
Takes 2 days to grow things, so I'd need 80 spaces worth of crops?
