I am very sure that they have said wards are part of the world server and like every other active zone in the game. Using the excuse that they only increase wards when they feel the world server is stable enough to handle more open world zones. Even if not one person was in any housing ward they would all still be active like any other dead zone.
Oh yeah, absolutely. Two different uses of the word "instanced" I think. I was more referring to it being the same area/zone repeated multiple times. Similarly to when they instance open world zones when they expect heavy traffic.I am very sure that they have said wards are part of the world server and like every other active zone in the game. I admit the other definition you are using (not part of the world server basically) is probably the more correct one in this context, though.

They probably will, in a future update once things are stable and the servers can handle it. A small, medium, or large plot (paying the proper amount of gil), to build a house on, with a yard and interior. At which time the current Districts will be rezoned as FC properties only.
I've thought this literally since Island Sanctuary was announced. That this is a beta testing for the instanced servers, to see how they react and what needs to be done with it. But it's just a theory, and may never become reality.

If this was the intent, they would have led with this as it would be something universally good that the community would love, especially given how divisive/critical the fan base has been of Endwalker. They would not have spent the time developing entirely different-yet-somewhat-parallel systems if it was just going to be housing. They probably will, in a future update once things are stable and the servers can handle it. The devs need to hit a home run. Were housing reasonably possible, they would have gone for it.
All that said, the above post is certainly true: this could just be a step towards instanced housing and testing ideas with this.

Almost to rank 6. So far, it's an enjoyable little time-killer, but it feels a bit like a beta for things to come. And the "extreme server load" message is giving me Raubahn Extreme flashbacks.
Does show why instanced housing won't work with the current game setup, though. The islands are pretty static with a set amount of variables, so one island isn't that different from another. Imagine the server load if every player had their own fully-decorated house and yard. We'd never get in anywhere.
So far I'm more curious about what's to come than I am interested in what it is now. I'll keep up with it, but I won't lose sleep if I miss a day or two here or there.

Is it a problem to miss days? I really don't want something I have to do every single day. I haven't gotten back on FFXIV yet to try it.

I bet they will never do this and the already trouble with stability is 100% proof that they can't even if they wanted to.They probably will, in a future update once things are stable and the servers can handle it.
