SE, please listen to the constant feedback about the glamour system

While I'm not going to be ungrateful for the changes to the glamour system we've had over the past couple of patches, it's still a far cry from the ideal that other games offer. We shouldn't shout down people asking for changes towards an eventual glamour log, the more Square realizes that we want a glamour log, the more likely they are to assess how to eventually implement it properly without it seeming like it'd be a waste of dev time.

Who is this "we" you speak of? You may want a glamour log, but I don't.
There are things I can do, and do do, with the current FFXIV system that a glamour log can't.

"We" at the very least includes me and OP, as well as the people that agree with me and OP, just because you don't want it doesn't stop us from wanting and asking for it.
And honestly there's a lot more people that would rather a more comprehensive log system than what we have now. Just because you're fine with less doesn't mean we should be.

One can hope they have some people working on getting a glamour log to work with their current systems without (much) problem, and what we get is the "it's not ready yet, here is something to tide you over"

I hope so too, until then at the very least I want to let Square know that I would like it being implemented eventually.

How do you know that? Have you surveyed the entire player base?

Or are you just making it up out of whole cloth to make it seem like your position is the majority? Well, it's not unusual for certain kinds of people to preface such blatent nonsense with the word "honestly:" are you a career politician, perhaps?

The real "honesty" is that neither you, nor any of the other complainers, have any idea at all what the majority of the player base wants. If anyone does, it's SE, not you, and even they may not. (Fortunately for SE, Yoshi-p has proven to have good instincts.)

And at the end of the day, what "most people want" doesn't matter. Any software company, including a game company, that lets the majority of its users dictate what features are added is committing suicide, because users -- being generally greedy, self-interested, and short-sighted -- will always want more stuff and never want to pay for it.

We've seen this in the complaints about the glamour system, with some people letting it slip -- saying the quiet part out loud -- that what they really want is more gear storage without needing to pay for more retainers.

I can only go on what I've seen from many people in-game and out of game, the moment I bring up the idea of a glamour log, or someone talks about a previous games implementation of something, everyone else around usually wishes we had something similar instead of a limited number of slots and dyes that take up half a retainers inventory. The fact we get threads every other day with hundreds of replies is testament to that at the very least.

And by the same token of letting users dictate what gets added, if you ignore what users want, you're also committing business suicide. Even Yoshi wants a glamour log system and his team just struggles to implement it.

About the only reason I can see this system being "better" is because the glamour dresser holds dye info. But the dye system is also extremely flawed and I'd rather see that reworked as well.

I'd be able to free up a good 100+ slots from my inventory and retainer if it did that's for sure.

Truth just isn't a priority for you isn't it? I've explicitly posted to this forum at least one enhancement I would like: storing dyes in the glamour chest.

Why don't you stick to posting as fact things you actually know? Assuming, of course, you can tell what that is. Imagine how much more time you'd have to touch grass if you did.

Yeah, we know: you want the galmour system revamped so you can store more gear without needing to pay for retainers.
Since I have 9 retainers on many of my characters (and could have 9 on all 12) I don't see that as an issue.
That said, I don't store much gear in them -- they're nearly full of crafting mats.

As for the storing dyes bit, it's at least one thing you and I can agree on. But I was talking about the glamour log section specifically when referring to something you don't want changes on. I admit I could've worded that better, but at the very least don't just cherry pick what you want out of my post.
You'd probably have more allies in this if you weren't so hostile, all I did was say I want something and that there's quite a few people that also want it. Maybe you should take your own advice about touching grass.

And yet you also jumped to the extreme of "if everything that users wanted was included that it'd be committing suicide" (paraphrasing here, not the exact wording). You yourself didn't include the middle and instead jumped that because YOU didn't want something, that everyone else is just being ungrateful complainers who should shut up and live with what we've got.

Honestly if this is how you're going to have any discussion with people, then there's no point arguing.
