I don't think it would. An increase in tomes and pvp crystals caps would just lead to an artificial increase in the cost to purchase items with the respective currencies, which would in turn increase the scarcity of items and increase the prices on the AH as the rate of acquiring the currencies wouldn't change. Otherwise there is no point to changing the caps for the currencies if all your going to do is increase the rate currencies are aquired at because all that does is change smaller numbers into unneccesary larger numbers.

I'm fine with having a weekly cap for the most current tomestone, but would love to have unlimited storage for all tomestones. I'm at the point where I routinely max out Poetics and Aphorism with little I care to spend them on. Care to being the operative term. I'm basically at the point where I buy stuff to give to the GC for seals. I really don't see the point in maxing storage out at 2000, especially for 2nd Tier tomestones as they're not as plentiful as Poetics. All this will let me do is be able to kit myself out in better gear quickly when the time comes.

I have a large number of retainers and will need to get them the last-stage tomestone gear to make sure their set for 7.0. Gearing my active jobs and retainers geared, 14 sets total, will be a near thing at this point. It would be very helpful to be able to stockpile large numbers of Poetics and 2nd Tier tomestones for future gearing for pre-expansion release.

To be fair, the RP crowd are the ones who most consistently subscribe. 95% of the non-RP people I know take significant breaks between expansions or patches, and even then a fair portion of the remaining 5% play sporadically and for short periods of time. It's quite common in my FC for the vast majority of people to play through the expansion MSQ and raids then unsubscribe until the next raid tier drops and unsubscribe again when they're done with it. Those who don't care for raiding sometimes do the expansion MSQ then don't come back until a month or two before the next expansion to play through the MSQ and gear up for the next push. Some of those people come back to do seasonal events for the glam then are gone again when they get it. The point being, the great majority of non-RPers I know are on/off subscribers.

99% the RPers/socialites I know remain subscribed barring some RL need to take a short-term break, like having a kid or are busy with work/studies/a different game. If I didn't RP I'd be one of the ones who did the expansion MSQ then come back only for limited-time events and drop again until a couple months before the next expansion. In fact, because I've gotten into RP, this is the first time I've stayed subbed this long into an expansion cycle since ARR.

This seems weird. But I don't mind the random box from GC seals. A random box from poetics could eat a nice chunk and make people feel less like poetics are worthless. Unless you are doing very specific content poetics aren't super valuable, several patches out of an expansions life cycle.

I would love for this to be a thing! 2.0-5.0 or 6.0 when 70 drops would be very nice.

Excuses for being lazy and stay in the comfort zone where you as a dev can tell people to stop play the game and comeback every 3-4 months, but hey if you have a house the discourse changes. Genshin as a example I had 4 events stacked (fully voiced, new mechanics, new maps to explore, new dungeons, new trails etc even if the mobs are reused) and 2 days ago a web designed event full of rewards and with pretty art style.

Personally i find it frustrating when people who i can easily say have no clue what its like to create a game want to call developers lazy because they "the player" feel that there wasnt enough content they like added to the game and that any answer they are given is an excuse.

It'll probably be about 8 months again. 5.5 saw the last upgrade to the crafted set. If you're gearing up retainers, you would do better just getting that stuff rather than grinding out the other tomes. They'll be 10 ilvl below the other gear, but you can grind it out since it's using the 2k cap tomes. You get to take a longer break until 7.0

Thank you for that. I don't plan on taking a break as I'm enjoying how I play the game now, so a possible 5-8 month space to get the gear is welcome. Thankfully I enjoy roulettes. I totally forgot about my alt, so make that 21 sets of armor to get, plus 1 DoH and 4 DoL sets. I prefer to make or earn all the gear I get so buying crafted stuff's a last resort option. I had to do it for my alt's retainers and it hurt my heart, LOL.

I don't know who still needs to hear this, but the tomestone cap is relatively low so that casual players can 'keep up' with the tomestone gear.

Raiders will get better gear faster, so get into EX/Savage if you want the l33t equips. Casual players can do some roulettes here and there to stay geared at the tomestone cap so they don't feel like they've 'fallen behind.' Then whole thing resets with the next major patch, which isn't that long of a cycle.

It's a decent solution to a fairly difficult problem in MMOs.

That if you cap weekly you can have every set.

The 2k tomes are that way to keep you thinking about them and spending them. There's gil to be made in spending either 2k currency. If you craft, there's spiritbond to gain from crafting the latest items.
