I lost exactly one game between Gold and Crystal. Must have gotten that crazy good teammate luck.

Don't think its going to change much but It will be a annoyance for alot of players
at the end of the day we will see, can't say I'm not excited to see all the tops at the same lvl get to cut my teeth again sort of speak
Free the Glam!, Duel Pistols (Gunner)?
You're 100% full of crap. Either you got carried or you were win trading. Then again for all we know, you could be using hacks too.
I busted my ass for two seasons and could not get out of bronze. 90% of the people in Crystal got carried and I have zero respect for any of them.
Not anymore. The new system implemented in 6.2 will use the highest rating you had for the leaderboards. Let's say you reached 3000 points once and you are now down all the way to Crystal 0. The system will consider you as a score of 3000 for the leaderboards. So you would have nothing to lose anymore and could play on different classes.Absolutely, disagree. Fooling around is much less likely the higher you go. Top 100 will fight tooth and nail to keep their spot on the leaderboard and avoid losing points. Deranking is not even targeted at those players, it is targeted towards everyone at Platinum, trying to get to Crystal
What was dead about PVP exactly ? If you mean Feast Training Matches, then sure, there was no reason to play those. But Feast high-rank was popping every night on most data centers with somewhat decent queue times (unless you were a tank). It had de-ranking and if you didn't make it high enough in time you could not play anymore (which is what is currently happening with Crystalline Conflict). But if you were Diamond, you'd get pops very frequently. You could find streamers on Aether or Primal having games non-stop every night. There is a competitive PVP community on all data centers.
It's not about worshipping the Top 100, it's knowing who is on there and having played against most of them and talked to them on Discord. They are way better than your average player and didn't get there by chance or by cheating (with a few exceptions, which are reported by the community because it's in everyone's interests to have them gone so you can have competitive matches). That's why some cheaters lost their Rank 1 spots.

100% this. I am giving up reaching crystal this season and will just settle to get all the rewards. The RNG for teammates is just beyond frustrating.
I can see that the message that most of you are not climbing because you're bad is not sinking in. A lot of blame on those RNG teammates.
So please, after your games do me a favor. Look at the leaderboards table. Look at your kills, look at your deaths, look at your damage done, look at your healing done.
How does it usually compare to the rest of your team ? How does it compare to the people on the other side ? If there is someone with the same class as you, how did they do ? Did they vastly outperform you using those metrics ?
Because there is absolutely no chance that you can be stuck in Bronze for a season long with constant positive K/D ratios and damage that is up there.
Effort is not a complete substitute for learning. You can play a thousand games of CC and if you start out unskilled and refuse to learn anything and adapt at all, then you'll stay in Bronze, and it will be the system working correctly. It really, truly, does not matter how good or bad the rest of your team is on a long enough timescale.
Woah get a load of this...You're 100% full of crap. Either you got carried or you were win trading. Then again for all we know, you could be using hacks too.

So 90% of the people in Crystal got carried or were cheating while having an easy spree reaching it? So players with seasons upon seasons of exp of FFXIV pvp in general (not Frontlines) or those naturally excelling at fast-paced MMOrpg PVP are full of sh**?
My condolences for your awful experience, but you honestly should back off.
